How do I get the Autopilot to fly an IFR approach?

Mr. Upthegrove, evidently you don't realize that the G-1000 is NOT a single device. It's an integrated collection of boxes working together. The unit you're discussing is the GIA 63 or GIA 63W (non-WAAS and WAAS respectively) These units contain com radio, nav radio and GPS receivers, if...

    Traffic position update between Rx's

Yes, but then it's not traffic, it's an obstacle. ;D

    Traffic position update between Rx's

If I'm not mistaken the length of the line denotes the speed the target is moving. Perhaps a little 'pip' along the line to denote projected position?

    IFR in Canada

i've pondered the same question.  My solution was to add an SL-30 to the GNS-430.  That gives me dual coms, dual navs and an IFR GPS.  I think it would require that any planned alternate would need to have a VOR or ILS approach available, should the GPS be the item that fails.  Dual Skyviews...

Just to throw an idea out there, perhaps it would be useful to mount a switchguard near the edge of the skyview panel to stabilize your hand before pushing the button. www dot periheliondesign dot com slash switchguards

Actually Murray, it's just because we have no culture here on the Alberta side. ;D

    Font Size & BLING

I don't own any Skyview equipment yet, but I'm planning on it for my project. I'm curious about the consistant requests for larger font sizes. I understand about how the font is a little difficult to read amid the clutter, but when I look at the screenshots (and hardware at Oshkosh) of Skyview...

    V3.3

By default Excel will use it's host computers settings for decimal and thousand separators, however it can be overridden in the excel settings. In the case of Excel 2010 go to "Options" click the "Advanced" tab and scroll down to "Use System Separator". Unclick that button and input a period...

    ADAHRS mounting

Stainless steels may or may not be magnetic, it depend on the grain structure of the steel.  Austenetic stainless is essentially non-magnetic but there are plenty of grades that are not austenetic. http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=1140 This link has a good description.  To quote one...

    ADAHRS....

You call for a "magnetically clean" location for the ADAHRS unit. Does that mean those of us building steel tube fuselages can't use your new system? Gerry
