    Switches fall into the 'standard electrical component' category in my experience. I've never see anything that limits you there. Make sure they are rated for the voltage and currant, and let fly!

    Another factor many may not be considering is that signal will be worse the farther north you go. What works 'fine' in Texas may not work at all in Alaska. The installations instructions are there for a reason. Someone else will own the airplane after you.

    Question about compass

    We deleted on our Bonanza install based on the current regulations. FAA has certified light sports with MEL that do not include a wet compass, so I think thats pretty definitive.

    Personally, I'd install a dedicated 7" Skyview screen and have the EMS for the flexiblity over keeping a JPI930... and I love the JPI. Repair costs on the JPI products are so insane now, and the Skyview can use all the same probes, so you really just need the EMS box. Money spent now would...
