Unofficial Dynon Skyview Update Script for MacOS

I saw the announcement of wi-fi loading of chart data to the HDX via FlyQ. It notes that this requires both a SA Chart sub PLUS a sub for the FlyQ app. I recently decided to try to FlyQ app because I am not stoked about paying Foreflight prices but the flight planning was still pretty clunky...

Feature request - bigger glide path indication

I second this feature request. It is just about my only complaint about the entire HDX system. Bigger glide path please! :)

Unofficial Dynon Skyview Update Script for MacOS

Any chance of developing a GUI for this? I really dislike having to run ChartManager or whatever its called on the VirtualBox windows emulator I have. It is so slow and clunky...but free. LOL i have ZERO interest in owning a dedicated Windows laptop for just this one purpose.

    Avidyne IFD440 ADS-B in

I havent found any solution that will send Dynon ADSB data to the Avidyne unit. It is unfortunate and hopefully will change. I have a separate Skytrax100 ADSB In using for the IFD540. Even though the Dynon does display traffic and weather it is nice to have another source. Since they are...

    Map Zoom - CW/CCW

Clockwise should be zoom in, IMHO! In my BMW it is the opposite for the map zoom and it drives me crazy. Not configurable in the car. HDX done right and lets you choose!

Acceptable delta in altitude readout between HDX and D10A

I think mine differs by a similar amount. Just had the pitot static check done and the HDX altimeter checkout out all good. They did not comment on the D10A.

    HDX anti-glare matte finish?

Yeah I don't know I guess it's a matter of personal opinion here. The glare/reflection has not bothered me (and I live in SUNNY Southern California!). I guess I wouldn't wear a white shirt on a sunny day and fly towards the sun??? LOL. To me it's a non-issue but obviously YMMV...

    Dynon YouTube Chanel...training.

I made a fairly comprehensive review that may help you learn the HDX system. Feel free to message me if you have any questions as I also have an IFD540. -Eric

    Skyview Wish List

I also have it hooked up for the engine monitor alert (from the JPI unit) and considered putting the sound effect of R2D2 screaming/freaking out when he gets electrocuted but it is a little startling...LOL

    HDX anti-glare matte finish?

I personally don't find it to be an issue at all, but then again not a bubble canopy. Having shot the HDX screen in a few videos, I can say (as a professional cinematographer) that the reflection appears much worse on camera. I attribute this partially to the small sensor of the GoPro (or...

    Skyview Wish List

I have my PMA450B wired up with the Flightmate feature and it can do this! I have an R2D2 sound that plays when I disco my Trutrak Autopilot (Dynon AP not yet approved for my PA32)..You can hear it demonstrated at the beginning of this video:

    Skyview Wish List

Would love the representation of the glide slope to be bigger somehow...maybe an option to have it over the HSI or something. I just really miss the big glide slope needle of the analogue gauge. That is one of my only complaints about going glass....

Dynon HDX Installed in a PA32-300

I went with the iPad instead of the second screen for cost and because I had been so accustomed to using foreflight during the flight. The HDX does a great job of displaying charts/plates and they are easy to navigate to with the knob or touch screen. I usually pull up the approach plate on...

Does the Skyview has airport map?

Thats a great tip and one I did not know! What happens if you press and hold the knob in the air? Is that the re-center map command?

Does the Skyview has airport map?

I believe you must have the chart subscription from Seattle Avionics and download charts to your USB stick and keep that in the USB port. (it's $99/yr and sometimes they do a $300-$400 lifetime special). The charts include 2 types of taxi diagrams- the FAA ones and Seattle Avionics own taxi...

Downloading Seattle Avionics chart data with an iMac

I found this workaround and posted a thread awhile back. I actually don't know anyone who runs Windows but maybe because I live in California. LOL. https://forum.flydynon.com/threads/chartdata-manager-is-windows-only-i-found-a-free-fix.12610/

    Bugs and Knob Panel

"To select which BUGS are enabled for selection on the BUGS Knob, select MENU (Button 6) on the Main Menu, then select the PFD TOOLS icon, then BUGS icon. On the BUGS menu page, select/deselect the various BUGS per your preferences." HDX User Guide 4-3. Hope that helps!

    Bugs and Knob Panel

You can remove the redundant ones from the menu (HDG, BARO, ALT) makes it a little faster to navigate and assign functions. Don't forget you can touch the area of the screen to make the HDX knob take that function (example touching airspeed will make the knob control airspeed bug). It can be...
