    Skyview x GTN650 x GTX33 x SVXPNDR-261

Update from Garmin. They confirmed what I suspected. The GTN series only supports the Garmin transponders. So unless you have a third party transponder that happens to use the same protocol as the garmin boxes you'll be out of luck :(.

    Skyview x GTN650 x GTX33 x SVXPNDR-261

I think the answer may be that only Garmin GTX series is supported. A new software update down the track may enable third party support. I know they still have a few things to fix on the GTN series because the last unit I used had a few bugs/features that need updating. Nice unit though, and a...

    Skyview x GTN650 x GTX33 x SVXPNDR-261

These are the available transponder related RS232 input settings for the GTN series. They are repeated for #2 transponder if you were to have two transponders installed. I am assuming Dynon must be outputting TIS in the same format as the GTX series for the GTN's to recognise TIS based traffic...

    Skyview Guides Rev I Boolmarks

Any reason why the bookmarks have been removed from the latest Rev I Installation and Pilots User guides. They were very useful for navigation of the document. Please consider this a request for a return of the bookmarks. Thanks

    Skyview audio out connections

It sounds like your audio panel only accepts mono on the unswitched inputs. The SV install manual says to wire this as you suggest. But I think I remember reading that you should not connect these audio lines as yet because you may get unwanted noise to your audio system. If you are a way off...

    Shunt location when using VP-X?

You do not need shunts with the VP-X system. The current monitoring is all done within the VP-X box. The current values displayed are all derived by the VP-X box itself and sent to the Skyview via RS232 serial link. See http://www.verticalpower.com/VPX.html for more information on what else you...

Skyview display of flap position (resolved)

Re: Skyview display of flap position You could use a simple 5 to 1.1 ratio potential divider to drop the voltage. Something like 100K and 22K resistors should work. Connect as follows:- Join one end of each resistor together. Connect other end of 100K resistor to Ground. Connect other end of...

    Skyview-to-Garmin GTX327

The Dynon Transponder does not have an inbuilt encoder. This function is performed by the SV software and ADAHRS module, so the encoder would be non TSO'd because the SV is non TSO'd. It sounds like some shops interpret the rules differently, or don't do much experimental work.

Dual 10" co-pilot will not boot.

Jamie, Yes you need the D37 harness connected and wired for all displays in a Skyview system. The Skyview network connections will only power sub modules and not the screens. The network signals are passed through the screens so this is why Screen 1 can see your Servo connected through Screen...

    3.1 upgrade problem

Have you installed the 3.1 upgrade to both screens? It needs to be installed to both screens independently. The first screen will update all the connected and powered modules except for other screens, these need to be done independently.

    Microair M760 and SkyView

Frequency control of radios is not currently supported in Skyview. Dynon have been working on their own COM radio so I guess if anything gets integrated then it will be the Dynon module if they choose to continue with it. Failing that the SL30 is already supported as a NAV source over the RS232...

    Interface with Garmin 430/530

OK I confirmed the 430/530 operation. If ARINC course is available it will use this as its source and only drop back to the Resolver input OBS from the GI106A if the ARINC data is missing. Tom's account is correct, however I personally would not use this setup as the compass card on the GI106A...

    Interface with Garmin 430/530

It sounds like you have the GI106A connected direct to the 530 and you have an ARINC 429 link from the Dynon. If this is the case you have 2 OBS inputs to the 530. Hence the conflict. What are you using the GI106A for? You have a fully functional HSI in Skyview. If you turn on the ARINC link...

SL30 test mode and Skyview HSI

The SL30 install manual states the following:- Note: No serial test messages are sent in the Setup Mode while testing CDI and GSI flags. I can't remember if that means only the RS232 flags will not work in setup mode of if that means no HSI RS232 data in setup mode period. I'm curious now, so...

    Changing Altimeter setting on Skyview

Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the right knob default to map ranging if the map is displayed. If this is the case you are stuck with the left knob for control of everything else. I personally would like to see an additional panel similar to a combined HS34/AP76. This would be great for AP...

    HSI Operation

Thanks, it seems to operate as I would expect. You say 'simply spin the course' but what is the course control on a Skyview screen? Is it the left or right rotary control and do you have to select it from the pop up menu like HDG or BARO? It does not appear in any screen shots I have seen of the...

    HSI Operation

I've been trying to decide on the merits of including an SL30 in my panel. I'm trying to figure out how it plays with a Skyview. I've been searching through the installation Manuals & Pilots Guides of both Skyview and the SL30 and the Dynon wiki pages to try and gain a better understanding of...

    Vertical Power Integration?

Yes VP-X Pro with twin SV displays will make a great integrated package. It would save on having to buy an MGL Xtreme just to integrate with VP-X. Add me to the list of those who want this.

    Capacitive-to-Voltage Converter

Dynon, Seems you can not keep your existing EMS wiring loom exactly as previous products for Skyview if you are using capacitive fuel probes. The outputs from these would need to be moved from existing pins 20 & 21 to either 8, 22 or 31 of the Skyview harness.
