I did this test and adjusted the HP until the ROP/LOP was reporting LOP at 14.7 AFR. All the EGT's peaked at about 14.9 AFR but I'm thinking the AFR gauge is more accurate, or perhaps the average peak as the O2 sensor in the collector pipe and the LOP from the LEAN function doesn't switch until...
I think that is by design. If you want to fly the plane by hand you should disconnect the servos with either the AP button or the servo disconnect switch. I installed the servo disconnect button on the stick so that if I want/have to hand fly there is a convenient quick disconnect.
Case closed. I installed the filter and tried transmitting on a few frequencies on the ground. The VSI jumps a bit but the altimeter seems to be unaffected by the TX. :) :)
The fuel gauge also remained unchanged during TX. Go figure? I can't see that it's connected to the ADAHRS in any way...
I solved this problem. It's the ZAON. Turn it off and the noise on the radio goes away. :-?
I did get the capacitive filter suggested for the altitude problem, but haven't had the chance to install it so can't comment yet. I do have a work around. I was using the AP disconnect button to when I...
Doesn't. I just don't use it much. I do the same as you (and Mike Busch). At WOT and ROP and leveling off I just turn down the RPM and pull the mixture lean. As you say the % power drops below the safe 75% when I lean quickly so I don't care much what the % power is before I do that. Rather than...
The discussion is much appreciated. Had me searching all over the Internet trying to determine the HP of my modified o320. :-/ In the end it didn't much matter. I do display % power on my engine page but adjust power/cruise settings according to AFR rather than % power. So % power is more a...
That's an interesting thought. I always though the % power was independent of the horse power, and based on RPM, MAP and FF. So does adding electronic ignition, fuel injection and compression ratios, etc change the formula?
I deleted the very low terrain database and was able to load all the other databases. I think the very low is only used when you zoom way out to see the whole continent.
Good to know. When the topic was brought up I thought that a battery gauge showing remaining power would be a nice thing. But then how many times would I get to use it. I don't fly around much without the alternator working so the battery level is not a concern. Nice to know there will be a...
After the first failure I measured the time and it took 1:50 hours on both the Dynon stick and another 8GB stick. Could this be a Skyview thing? Was the processor or electronics updated on later versions of Skyview? I have an early version of Skyview.
Savannah: did you purposely skip the very...
Bill - I participated in that thread and didn't agree with the 5% with numbers only scheme. Sorry. :(
I realize that changing the widow scheme is a major undertaking. Other than that feature, all the suggestions are tweaks to the engine page widgets. Most of which are graphics that have...
The AP disconnect switch serves a different purpose than powering up the servos. It's a quick disconnect and also doubles as a CWS button. If you hold it for more than two seconds the AP can engage in a specified mode. See the AP operation in the Pilot's Guide.
If you want a switch to disable...
Kudos to Dynon on Skyview version 11. Nice work. :) :)
I like the faster loading. Nice touch showing the items appear as the map databases load. Better than a progress bar although a progress bar or hour glass is what soothes users impatience or anxiety. While I can't use the majority of...
