That's correct. I was just comparing the two ways of showing fuel and pasted one view onto another.

No IAS taxiing under 20 Kts

IAS doesn't register until about 20 kts. 20 kts is pretty slow because analog IAS gauges don't usually register until about 40 kts. GPS ASSIST is normal behavior. If the pitot fails then Skyview will display the ground speed and GPS ASSIST. You can make it happen anytime with a ten knot wind...

    Conditional Contact or Alarm

The RPM condition was just an example. The condition could include any gauge that's available plus some of the ADAHRS data. alarm_type=SELF-CLEAR CONDITION AIRSPEED>120 alarm_type=LATCHING CONDITION CANOPY=OPEN alarm_type=LATCHING CONDITION PRCNT_POWER<50 The condition would be added to the...

    Layout editor - computer application

The Skyview display setup interface works but is limiting to what can be done. While we're waiting for someone to come up with the PC App this document has some helpful hints that are available for hand coding the gauges. http://www.digitalmapping.sk.ca/EMS_Gauges.pdf Here are some examples of...

    Conditional Contact or Alarm

There have been a few requests for conditional alarms. VP-X supplies a few. The starter is disabled while the engine is running and the flaps can be disabled at too high air speeds for example. With EMS/ADAHRS/SYS serial data now available from Skyview it's possible to have another device...

How to set up teh RAC 12 possition sensor

I believe that you have to calibrate the flaps before they will show in the display setup, p7-49 of the install manual. SETUP MENU > HARDWARE CALIBRATION > EMS CALIBRATION

    Capacitance fuel guages

When I calibrated my Princeton capacitive fuel probe Skyview complained that it didn't detect a change when I added ten litres. The difference was about 0.1 volts. I ignored the warning for every add and my fuel gauge works fine. I think I seen somewhere on this forum that the resolution Skyview...

    Checklist page

On the contrary. I think the whole idea for experimental is just that.  As far as complexity my system already knows: [list bull-blackball]my engine is started and disables the power to the starter switch my airspeed is beyond the flap speed limit and won't extend the flaps a bulb is burnt out...

    Checklist page

I'll have to agree with Jake that VFR flight is as it suggests - looking outside. With that in mind, a minimal Skyview is kind of over kill for VFR flight - yet we put a lot of effort and money into continually adding to the panel. So yeah, there is lots of stuff there that people don't use - or...

    Tach sensor with P-Mags

Which P-Mag control lead is Stein Air using for tack signal? The recommended method of connecting the P-Mags for tack signal (RPM) is to use #6 control lead instead of #4. It's made to connect to an EFIS - no resistors needed. See the wiring diagram in the P-Mag manual. I connected them...

    Transponder code reset

The G1000 and Skyview XPNDR aren't the only units with auto ALT/STBY. The lowly GTX327 can determine airborne status and switches from STBY to ALT and vice versa. It uses GPS ground speed from the NMEA GPRMC sentence. Just connect a NMEA source to the GTX327 RS232 CHNL 2 INPUT. Section 3.3.5 and...

wire of the EMS brown harness are too long

I used regular crimp type connectors. Can't remember if they came with the kit. They seemed to work fine. The terminal connector sounds like a good idea for neatness but reply #4 above may rule out the use of a terminal strip. Although you would think it would be the same as using crimp...

    Traffic with ADS-B box only

I think you have to be transmitting position data through the transponder to be recognized as as ADS-B equipped. Otherwise there is no traffic data sent back to you. The Dynon ADS-B is receive only. The send part is the transponder.

    Transponder code reset

I don't think that is standard practice and may be confusing. Older transponders like the Garmin GTX320 where you dial in each digit don't reset to 1200. Doesn't GND or TWR give you a squawk code before taxi?

    Jeppesen database

I purchased a one time Jeppesen NAV and OBS database for North America to see what it looked like. I then switched to PocketFMS. I'm pretty sure I can download the free Dynon database and use it again and then switch back to Pocket FMS at any time. The Jeppesen, PocketFMS and Dynon all load off...

    Skyview Backup Battery Test Wizard

It's a bit tedious to sit and watch the Skyview one hour annual backup battery test. Like watching paint drying. When I get busy doing something else I don't think to check until long after the system has shut down. :-/ It would be nice to have a self test. Press the annual backup battery test...
