On the bench, they shouldn't do anything at all. They need to be actively commanded by a Dynon EFIS to do anything. How are they being powered on the bench? What other wires are connected?

For some reason, SkyView isn't seeing a sensor change between those two points. It's likely physical - perhaps some stickiness in the sensor, preventing movement, or possibly a defect in it that is causing some movement to not translate into a resistance change.

The only toggle is under MAP MENU > MAP ITEMS > AIRSPACE PROXIMITY. There isn't dynamic setting. But when it's off, you shouldn't see the gray box anymore.
