nauga Have you tried to update the EDC with the EMS disconnected ?  If  that works then I'd suggest you do have a wiring issue somewhere - maybe a pin is not seating  (clicked) home fully in the connector - twas just a thought  :) Jake J

Rob They sure make it expensive for you there :o I'm fairly sure you can't have 2 Gps's displayed at the same time but Dynon may chip in here, however you can select individual sources of Gps & have a Nav etc displayed on the same HSI. Jake J

Jim in 2 was the 'old' keep alive (power direct from battery bus) & is not used anymore although some harnesses still have them included, that yellow you have should go to pin 14. So for Fuel Flow you have Red to 15 as well - seems like someone has confused the wiring. :-? Jake J

The screw type are typically what JPI or EI uses but star washers must be used between the ring terminals & under the head of screws & under the nuts. Doug - I'd use a good size braided earth strap as well as a 1/4" braid to the Dynon case, just to be sure. I'm giving my FT a major makeover...

Trib What I'd do is wire up the Dynon 9dsub connector as per normal however wire from pin 13 (alt out) to another pin on the female 9dsub too & then have a male connector on the Garmin side with serial ground to pin 5, GPS serial out to pin 2, alt in to GPS to whatever the wire from pin 13...

Use Dynon pin 13 to Garmin 155xl P1 pin 17 - in the Dynon menu selection go to MORE > SETUP > MORE > ALTENC & select Format 4, don't forget to enable the RS232 port on the !%% as well ;) HTH Jake J
