Problem installing Autopilot on EFIS D100, AP74 an

Re: Problem installing Autopilot on EFIS D100, AP7 "Initial Servo Test it DOES NOT move full range" It might be best answered by Dynon, but I think the servo test only ever poves part of the full scale movement. Your autopilot would not normally move to full scale on any surface so I think...

    Strange CHT Reading

Check all the pins in your connector. The Harness made by Stein Air could be improved a little, especially with the pins pulling back due to stress in the exit of the back shell. I have suffered this and JakeJ on this forum also has with several installations. That might be where the problem...

    Testing Documentation

You guys do have trouble in the UK. Jabiru had to go through virtually full certification tests, just to get the experimental J400/430 series planes on the market there. You need to move to the USA or Australia....... Second thoughts.....after the Ashes recently you best move to the USA, you...

    Installation in a Cessna 206

There are moves albeit slow ones from CASA to allow people to install the Dynon A/P in certified VFR ONLY aircraft. They allow the Dynon EFIS and EMS in certified IFR aircraft here now for back up EFIS and for EMS so long as the certified (and unreliable) instruments remain. So its a good step...

What do I need for A/P, and when?

Shielded Twisted Pairs are cables. In building your panel and wiring the plane you should be using some 2 core and 3 core with shields, mainly for audio wiring. Use the 3 cores for the A/P disconnect and a spare pair, a 2 core for the DASB runs and seperate power in....I forget what gauge...

    Fluctuating Manifold Pressure

try jamming some high density foam door sealing stuff in the tube at the sensor end, away from the engine etc and upstream of a restricting fitting, that way nothing will move to where it should not.

    AP bug list...need answers

No problems, I understand multiple folk table replies, this was yesterday.....or whcih ever day it is for you at the moment, the day before ;) I am sure something was edited. But yes your last comment is in line with what I saw....... maybe someone edited it after they realised they were not...

    AP bug list...need answers

Dynon, Postings being changed? I swear I saw in a detailed reply some mention of the VNAV still being on the agenda once the development is done for the Skyview series. I saw it with my own eyes :o and I received a phone call from Horsham Aviation this morning confirming what I saw here...

Pitch servo hunting on Lanacir 360

Make sure all your linkages are tight and no slop in the rod ends etc. We had a sloppy rod end in the Dynon pack, I ordered another pack as it was cheap and easier than asking for a warranty job. Also make sure your shear screw is loctite secured. DB

    Garmin 430W Compatibility?

Yes, it will steer the arc's to smooth out the turns. In other words whatever the GNS430/530 outputs it will follow. It really is quite sexy! And with the AP76...WHEN it happens it will be the best autopilot system available.

Dynon, how far away from the servo on the compass?

Re: Dynon, how far away from the servo on the comp Seems plenty to me...... thats what we have. Of cousre if DS come back and say otherwise....I might be in trouble! :-?

Problem with test mode of servo

I have seen that it does not use the full scale deflection when it does a test, but thats OK, your Auto pilot should never do it anyway. In the RV10 if it did that in flight....it would do about 3 rolls before I could hit the disconnect button! :o

    Garmin 430W Compatibility?

I would like to say I guarantee it :-? DB :)

    Garmin 430W Compatibility?

hawkeye We have a GNS530W and the whole suite of Dynon gear, and we have been really quite happy. Just last week my aircraft partner and retired Qantas B744 Captain did about 17 hours in our RV-10, and only 10 hours were VMC. The rest was really crappy weather, heavy rain and clouds that were...

    Garmin 430W Compatibility?

Not if I have my way..... I am about to muster a petition and a war chest to take personally on a crusade to Seattle all the way from down here. Going to put my money where my mouth is....errr keyboard is. So any of you and your friends want to get on board let me know Ohhh Dynon.....its not...

What do I need for A/P, and when?

I should not say this here, but the 750 or Savannah are such light and easy VFR machines for short journey's...... what do you need one for at all! ;) But I guess, you deserve to be lazy like me! :D Just run a few STP's through the fuese and wings for the A/P, and you can mount the servo's...

    Another AP Performance - Review

Latest report in from my B744 Captain aircraft partner is that after mnay hours of solid lumpty IMC and heavy rain...... The Auto Pilot and the -10 performed well. The climb and descend rate in the AP74 is useless in anything other than smooth air, so that requires disconnecting the ALT...
