New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold start

Re: New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold s Interesting, reloaded 5.2 to the servo's and it would not work, so while they were on the network I decided they must be communicationg OK so I did another calibration. All worked! And is still working after a 2 hours flight. Has anyone had...

Re: New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold s OK how about HOT start........... Around 100F I have had the roll servo not play the game. System not detecting then it does.... but the roll servo is not active..... I will reload 5.2 in the morning but I am 300nm from home....so may be...

New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold start

Re: New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold s I wonder is one unit has a open joint when its really cold. I have seen this on some Emerson Servo gear once! You could try the warm up sequence with one item removed each day.... :o

Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 issue

Re: Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 iss No debate really, the AB software does have a beast that needs taming. Mitsubishi makes superior and more reliable hardware, but the tools are inferior to the AB software tools by a huge margin. And they dominate the USA/Aust market. Oddly...

Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 issue

Re: Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 iss Here is a thought. You use Allen Bradley PLC's........... there is a big chance THAT is your problem. And I am sure you know what I mean. Did you have RS-VIRUS running on the original laptop, because it hogs com ports and does nasty things...

    Wrong winds aloft reading

Email is on its way. The GPS box is just you flying a GPS TRACK of 0degrees, noting the GS, 90 degrees note the GS 180 &270 degrees, so you fly a box in the sky noting the ground speeds. The spreadsheet calculates your TAS. You then compare this to the displayed TAS on your Dynon, or your...

Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 issue

Re: Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 iss As a fellow Industrial Automation engineer, my advice is buy a laptop with a proper serial port..... ;D Ok got my hat and coat....I'm outa here! ;)

    EGT #1, shows -99 deg.

make sure the pin in the CHT/EGT harness connector is not being pulled back out of the connector body. We have discussed this elsewhere, and is a problem with a large bunch of thermocouple cable in the back of a connector. DB :)

    Wrong winds aloft reading

I will bet its a static error for sure.........And DS, some LSA manufacturers would have never even considered it I dare say! CAMPS.....you must fly the GPS box test. This will tell you definately there is a static error. PM me your email address and I will send the program and instructions on...

Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 issue

Re: Brand new AP74 fw update from 5.1.1 to 5.2 iss Until you have servo's connected and a flying plane, why do any updates at all. ;) You may have a AP76 by the time you are finnished building! ;D As for the error..........I have no idea but I did mine on the weekend and its all worked...

    D10A cycles on and off

Darwin, our first D10 now has probably 1200-1300 hours on it and our 2 new panels about 160 each......... reliability is usually good. What else is there to check? You should have a long and hard look with a critical eye of your plane and its environment power supply etc to see what could be...

    EFIS, EMS and Servo wiring

Exactly how I did it, if you need to isolate anything it does not take all the others out at the same time.  :) I did however put the AP74/HS34 and servo's all on the same breaker. DB

Winds Aloft - mine are off, too - FlightDEK D180

Re: Winds Aloft - mine are off, too - FlightDEK D1 You will most likely have a static problem, not a leak but a pressure error. You have not mentioned the aircraft, but if its an RV and you have used a nice static port eiether side like I did..... you will most likely have a static error...

    EGT 1 crazy indication

I'll bet its a pin in the connector at the harnes side of the connection. If you can very carefully remove the plug from the back of the EMS and look at all the pins you will find that they are staggered. We had an intermittent EGT2 and I was discussing this with JakeJ who is down in Adelaide...

Question on a switching the power to the AP servos

Re: Question on a switching the power to the AP se I have my servo's on a seperate breaker, and I am sure I have done this, with no side effect...... but I can not be sure. I doubt that is a likely scenario. I will be surprised if its true! :-?

    Wrong winds aloft reading

Static ports can make big errors, here is a little story. Brand new Vans RV-10, instead of using the horrible Vans rivet head static port we elected to fit nice robust disc type vents like you see on many aircraft. result was a TAS that was about 9 knots slow. Glued a rivet head over the disc...

    What Servo to use

I have no idea about the servo size you need, however their stock will not be a problem and yes they work very nicely. Its well worth the trouble!
