Nav Source lost bug confirmed with 5.3 and Aera510

Re: Nav Source lost bug confirmed with 5.3 and Aer Dynon Bug Tracking.........  :D Ooops...I better be careful, they might use this on me when I visit there in August. :-? I am sure the bugs will be exterminated in time, so far none like that for the ARINC429.

    D180, AP 74 and D100

Sure will. You have a PFD/EFIS on both and they are independent. on the network the master controls the network and the AP may be lost if the master fails completely, but you still have an EFIS spare. I set up our page structure on the D180 so the RHS button has to be pressed once to get the...

    Airspeed Calibration

I know this is a bit out of left field but TRIPPLE CHECK that you have the AOA connected to the AOA holes and the pitot hole is actually connected to the Pitot. And check your static as well.

    Interesting NAV Source Lost Event

And keep your heading bug set to where you want it. nothing worse in IMC having that set elsewhere and it drops into HDG or TRK mode while you are doing something else, not that you should be off the EFIS for very long anyway. One instructor I know says never use NAV modes, fly it with the bug...

    Anyone install 5.3?

We have a -10 and we have no roll issues at all. The interesting thing for us was torque, and we needed a lot more, but the 7,8,9 seems to be lighter in the controls. DB

    Pitch oscillation

ours is set at the VNE less a bit 190kts from memory.........but I could be wrong. The Min Speed is the stall +30%

    Pitch oscillation

We had one of them before the RV-10. Your J430 should TAS 120 or even a bit more with the new engines. 105 is not right, suggest you talk to the local folks over there about that!

    Pitch oscillation

Jan I have the same experience at random times, can be perfect for ages but a bit of mountain wave seems to set it off or some minor turbulence. it will shoot right past the set point. I am providing feedback to Dynon about this issue and I wonder if its airframe related, ie a fast aircraft...

    Autopilot servo position feedback

Well there you go! Just coz its in the download you can't assume anything! My Bad! And I should have realised it was skyview, I assumed D100 as the skyview has its own threads and no A/P.....so my apologies. I'll get back in my box now and be quiet! :-X

    Autopilot servo position feedback

The servo position value is available from the stored data and I assume that it is available in the data stream from the RS-232 output, so you could install a display that read this value. Not sure if the respones time of data to screen will be fast enough for you. Plenty of RS232 devices...

    Autopilot wiring

Hate to break the bad news to ya buddy, but our IFR panel went in, once and I have not been back in there in 150 hours, apart from getting some harness pins in the connector block reseated into the block. And I can tell you I have no desire to get back into it either! :o

New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold start

Re: New Topic for New Info, DSAB Fails on a cold s Brian Just for educational content.....what was the problem? I am sure you would have asked the question ;)

    Autopilot wiring

fair enough, as you probably know many systems use 110ohms and I think DN240ohm so you could try it and see! I doubt Dynon have ever been asked such interesting questions before......so Question of the month award goes to you! :)

    Autopilot wiring

Why not run a cable out to the wing and one to the tail. We ran a 3 core and two core Shielded and twisted of course, to each destination, all terminated at the bus junction behind the panel. No Comms problems......unlike DeviceNet :D

    Any new AP User Updates

Are you using serial ? We have ARINC429 and the HS34. No Problems. I have seen other AVMAP installs where the serial issues are a problem from time to time.

    ?roll steering

I was not aware the roll steering output was available from the GX96 series. Maybe it is but over serial I don't think so. It is true the G430/530 series over ARINC429 does work very nicely, especially when doing RNAV's :)
