I second the winder tapes. Could you make them wider also. They just don't stick out like they do on round gauges. Making them a little wider may help.

The AGL I was referring to was the terrain shown in yellow on the map page which is altitude - ground level. I didn't pick a good example picture. At the edge of the yellow area you would be 1000' AGL. Any other place within the yellow area would be less then 1000' AGL.

My SV reboots on engine start when I don't have the backup battery attached. There was issues with software versions prior to 3.2 and and the backup battery so make sure you have the latest software.

I like to spend my time looking at the real stuff, but the synthetic vision does keep me between the big rocks and away from flying objects.
