Skyview 1100 Display - Map Scale Knob Partially Inoperative

When I was 'playing' with my HDX (setting it all up after initial installation) the aircraft battery got a bit low and I lost some of the touch screen functions and, I think, some of the knob functions. There seemed to be some sort of minor 'brown out' that reduced some of the capabilities of...

    CAN Fault message Rotax 912iS

If the backup switch is working okay (which connects EMS earth direct to airframe earth) then it sounds like an earthing problem with your start switch.

    Newbie questions

Are you talking about the flight director or the attitude indicator? They are two very different beasts.

    No Valid DB License

Yeah, that's exactly it. The subscription is linked to a particular unit, so they need the new serial number.

Heading bug off 9deg. Level button also

No, I meant the magnetometer. Whether you have a separate one or whether you're using the internal one to the ADAHRS, you can recalibrate it in flight. It may be that you're calibration is just fine but it won't do it any harm to recalibrate and, who knows, it might be the magnetic heading that...

Heading bug off 9deg. Level button also

Have you tried recalibrating the magnetometer? It's an easy thing to try if you haven't already done so and may a lucky break.

    Landing speed warning

Before you start disappearing down rabbit holes and looking up how the AoA works, check that your aircraft has the appropriate pitot/AoA tube. You won't get AoA if you just have a straight forward bit of pipe as a pitot tube. You'll need to have either the combined pitot/AoA tube, as sold by...

How to Disable ADS-B for Formation Flight?

Of course it doesn't. The transponder's extended squitter is only used for the transmission of ADSB data. Whatever is used to receive ADSB is totally separate to the transponder.

How to Disable ADS-B for Formation Flight?

Unless you specifically have an ADSB module, then ADSB is provided by sending GPS position from the HDX to the Mode S transponder's extended squitter. Therefore, as advised above, putting the transponder in standby prevents the transponder responding to interrogation AND from transmitting data...

    Displey SV-HARNESS-D37 USB removed

Very true. Mine is a new HDX but I used a harness that we had hanging around because it was never used. Obviously from a time before they removed it :) I'm surprised it doesn't work because everything has been done properly but I'm not concerned about it. A short lead from the back of the HDX...

    Displey SV-HARNESS-D37 USB removed

We did it recently on my aircraft but it does not seem to work. I plug exactly the same dongle into the D37 USB port and on the back of the HDX but it'll read the one on the back of the unit but not the D37. Maybe they changed the software when the option was removed.

    Touch screen not working

I write, not as any sort of expert, but as someone who had the same thing happen very recently on a brand new HDX. I'd spent some time setting up the various screens etc and had been on battery power, that was being trickle charged as I played. Lithium battery, so very low amp battery charger...

    12V On/Off Inputs

@Rhino. Excellent! Thank you very much for your pointers and especially your final diagram. I think the use of resistors will be a lot easier than the relays. From vLittle's comment, I gather using 20K resistors from the sensor would be better for multiple inputs. I will have 3 x 12v inputs...

    12V On/Off Inputs

I apologise for returning to this subject but just wanted to double-triple check my understanding is correct and that it is safe to input a 12v voltage into the EMS D37 as per the drawing below. The input would be used as a 'Contact' input to display a red light when triggered by the input...

    Stick Engage Button

Oh, now that I like :) Admittedly that's what my MGL autopilot does (one press to engage, one to disengage) but I'll be happy if that can all be done using one button with the Dynon system. Thanks very much for pointing that one out to me 👍

    Stick Engage Button

Yep, understand all of that, Carl, but I have manual trim and have used the HDX with and without the Knob Panel and AP Panel. I am quite happy to have just the HDX installed in my panel and nothing else. At 90kts in a EuroFOX I have little use for many, or speedy, mode changes and will leave...

    Stick Engage Button

More planning ahead :) I would like to keep my panel incredibly clean and will be using the knobs on the HDX to control the autopilot. It's okay, I have tried the options but am very confident I can do what I want to do my using the inbuilt capabilities. I would like to avoid installing a LEVEL...

    Switching from MGL to Dynon

Thank you one and all for your replies. I thought the servos might be a 'no' because the signals from the MGL CAN bus are probably just a different collection of 1 and 0 to make the servo do the same thing. It's a shame because they're the same size etc, so it would have just been nice to keep...

    Switching from MGL to Dynon

It's a plan that's been jiggling around in the back of my head for some time but the same plan seems to come to the fore more often of late. The plan is to move from my current MGL iEFIS Explorer Lite to Dynon HDX. For obvious reasons I would like to limit the changes in infrastructure and...

    12V On/Off Inputs

Thanks Airguy. I had seen the tables in my research but didn't want to pre-empt anything. As I understand it, I can input those 12v on/off sources to any of the Enhanced General Purpose inputs (C & blue in the table). Although receiving 12v the EMS records them as 5v. I then set up a widget to...
