I agree re VP-X, a much more cost effective and neater system plus you have many other inbuilt features that you wouldn't get by just using circuit breakers AND extra panel space as the VP-X is remote mounted. Most of the installations I do now have them. ;) Jake J

I'd strap them together as one & ground to same point as avionics - no guarantees that it will make a difference but that's what I do as it's too hard to do later in the Glasair. Hopefully you guys will have sorted it all out before I install the SV's into my Glasair ;D Jake J

Hi Dannie That is the only place I've mounted them (on about 20 RV's), up high just underneath the deck at the next bulkhead aft of luggage bay panel, without any issues. HTH :) Jake J

Dennis I've just seen your panel on another topic & there isn't an Ray Allen indicator shown so I guess you are displaying via the SV? There could be a few reasons why you are not seeing full travel but I'd do this first ie disconnect the trim linkage and 'calibrate' the trim by physically...

So, although it travels the full length you are seeing only part of that, correct ? If so then you could try to re solder/repair the indicator (these are delicate units IMO & losing segments of Leds is common), just needs a steady hand ;) Jake J

Dennis In composite aircraft I 'bond' all the 'boxes' and instrument panels with braided straps, reduces chances of the types of issues you are seeing. It may be worthwhile using a MuMetal cover on the EMS & ADAHRS cosidering where you have these mounted in relation to the Com antennas...
