    v3.3 audio

Bruno I'll chime in here if you don't mind-- What I do is connect all the audio grounds and power grounds, where possible, to one spot which is usually the 'forrest' of tabs bought from B&C. Serial (shielded wire) audio should generally only be grounded at the Audo Mixer, Intercom or Audio...

    New Trig Radio

I'm with you on this Vern - as an installer of avionics I'm finding it more difficult to locate these remote boxes in a position that is readily accessible for serviceing, for example the RV's - I use the sub panel to mount EMS module, 2 x Bat, Arinc Converter & SV Transponder.  There are...

    VP-X Sport

Hi Roger From your post of 9th I thought that you hadn't set up the VP-X properly but now understand the Dynon is displaying J8 connections despite the VP-x Sport not having them available, I haven't installed any Sport versions so could not 'see' what you are seeing. Jake J

    VP-X Sport

Roger Go to Systems Settings, VP-X website, & scroll to bottom of page then click on VP-X Sport that will disable the J8 pins. HTH Jake J

    D100 bank issue

Rob - I did say laterally as opposed to the fore/aft centreline :) DS reply is what I'm trying to establish ie if the Display is level :)laterally with the aircraft ;) This can be (and I've seen it happen) more of an issue with instrument panels that have less defined reference points eg...

    D100 bank issue

Rob Did you check that the Magnetometer is level with the aircraft laterally - hopefully it's that simple ;) I usually set the aircraft level first & hold that with jacks, then do the magnetometer/ADAHRS levelling. :) H Jake J

    Extra wires

MMarien FWIW :) Using the metal rod to push out the sockets has just destroyed the retaining capability of those holes, just wanted you to know IF you wanted to add some wires later to them. The insert/retract tools are readily available. Jake J

    Red cube position

I usually install them after the mechanical pump but anywhere after the tap will work fine - your option ;) Jake J

    v3.3 audio

Hi Bruno http://www.fdatasystems.com/Manuals/AP_60_Manual.pdf Yes, just wire up as per above install manual link - I'd add an inline switch to any item that doesn't have volume adjustment but not for the Com. Do add a switch for the nav side, use a SPST switch using shielded wire but join the...

    Revisions to Manuals

Any changes are listed in the revision notes however, IMO, Dynon will eventually probably scrap the supplied paper manuals - it's just too expensive & difficult to manage & has an impact on the environment. These manuals are now getting many more pages as the product develops with the lastest...

    SV altitude encoder data

Do you need Flight Levels displayed, maybe Pressure Alt would be better ? This can be changed in the Gtx menu ;) Jake J

    v3.3 audio

Bruno As we say - no worries  ;) , I'll reply to your pm some time tomorrow as I'll be travelling earlier in the day. There is a cheaper way if you have time to experiment but I prefer to buy 'off the shelf' items, it's easier, works and saves time plus this unit will take audio from several...

    weight and balance

The Flight Planning program I use has W&B capability which I use before I get to the plane. IMO at the plane is not the time to be doing it. I'd much rather see product development on features that are more useful for in flight.  From my experience some pilots don't use what's available already...

    v3.3 audio

Steve It's probably just a lack of understanding or knowledge that's causing frustration by some like Bruno, maybe the 'tone' could be different but that can be hard to convey - totally different from those who don't/won't read the install manual first, MY pet annoyance ::) Jake J :)

    v3.3 audio

Bruno you could try one of these, http://www.fdatasystems.com/Products/AP-60/AP-60.html easy and cost effective & no panel holes to cut. no need for a separate intercom either, the instructions cover your situation. ;) PM me if you need more help with this. Jake J

    EMS spikes etc

Wally Good 'find' - note for others - the BNC connectors used on Wally's plane are the crimp type (IMO the clamp type come a distant second place) with gold plated contacts, coax is RG400. :) Jake J

    EMS spikes etc

Save yourself the effort, that will not fix the 'spike' problem IMO :) Jake J

    EMS spikes etc

Wally In the hangar IS NOT the place to test, radiation (bouncing off the metal walls) back into the system is the issue ::) Of the 28 Rv's I've done yours is the only one that has reported these 'issues'. DS - Wally also reported that the filters worked for a while but they appeared to...
