Re: Broken disconnect Button wire - warning coming
John
I'll give you a call - FYI, I have some of the symptoms you describe in a composite aircraft. Testing frequencies in the lower Mhz eg 118.70 gave good results however in higher frequencies 'warnings' came up eg high oil temp & pressure...

The 'clue' is the standard jabby com antenna if you have it - I've had 'issues' with these and the RG58 cable. You are using RG400 ?

Hi Don
Couldn't resist being 'cheeky' :D it's frustrating when some don't read manuals or the website before posting questions - I like to help with real problems ;)

It seems you don't need the converter - just connect the black and red wires to ground and power respectively and the signal (3rd wire) direct to one of the fuel level inputs.

Re: Unable to conclude satisfactory AP test JABIRU
FWIW - IMO it's not worth the effort doing Alt Hold in the Jabby, the results are so variable and never consistent. This applies to all autopilot systems I've installed in Jabirus so far.
IMO the elevator/trim system is a crude/basic system...

Do you have 2 radios in the Glasair ? I've been chasing a similar problem but worse - each time I PTT 'warnings' come on (including audio) and CHT/EGTs show - 99C at times.
I too thought it was a radio frequency issue, tried btm/mid/top end of them but similar problems however when I...
"I have not been back in there in 150 hours, apart from getting some harness pins in the connector block reseated into the block."
So you DID go back ;D

Borge,
I pm'd you last week - if the current shows minus to plus then the answer is in the wiring connections forward of the firewall. That's where Jaba -who found his problem ;D

Bite the bullet BO - you have to change out most, if not all, of the VMS sensors anyway particularly the EGT/CHT as they are the UNgrounded types - the flowscan is useable.

I've had great success with the 3300 engine using same resistor as for the Lycoming - despite being told you don't need them for the Jabby ::)
Try that or a lower value resistor - you won't 'hurt' it.
It's all to do with the 'dirty' current out of the alternator.
