External LEVEL vs AP panel LEVEL button?

Know the Skyview Autopilot Controls setting in the Setup Menu (1st picture) needs to be set to Expert for any of the AP panel buttons to become active, including the Level button. The AP panel buttons are also replicated/available on the Skyview AUTOPILOT menu screen (MENU hard button >...

Trouble with Seattle Avionics DataManager.... again....

Just received an email from SA that new charts are available for download. How about that - new charts the day before the old ones expire. I couldn't ask for anything more - thank you Seattle Avionics!

    Touching an Airport on Touchscreen

When displaying a Seattle Avionics sectional map on my HDX screen, I find it very difficult to touch the exact spot needed to bring up an airport's identifier text box instead of the airspace info during flight (illustrated in figures 143 & 144, ch. 5-40 of the Pilots User Guide). It seems your...

Audio Warnings for Single Seat Aircraft - No Audio Panel or Intercom

You could also use a small audio mixer to combine your radio, Dynon audio and any other audio device (music player?) - such as this: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/flightdataAP60audiomixer.php?clickkey=24753 If you need a mixer that allows you to adjust and balance all incoming...

    Direct To Button

Thank you RV8JD! That section of the Pilot's User Guide is what I was missing. The next paragraph after the above further details how to get a Map Pointer waypoint into a current flight plan: "When in Map Panning Mode, the MENU > USER WAYPOINTS > ADD MAP CURSOR POSITION menu item will allow...

    Direct To Button

Experimenting with my HDX map feature today, I found if I touch anywhere on the screen, then press the button twice, the Flight Planner will create a direct flight plan from my plane's current position to the location I touched on the screen. It does this without me needing to create or add a...

I also have 2 displays and have seen the red X's indicating Skyview network (SkyNet???) equipment not connected after updating my 1st with this and previous software updates. The X's have always gone away after upgrading the 2nd display.

    HDX USB Port Locations

In the Skyview System Installation Guide, chapter 4, page 10 shows a rear-view drawing of the HDX screen and USB port locations. As mentioned above by Stevec, removing the 4 ea. front mounting screws and pulling the HDX screen forward from the panel should give good access to the rear ports...

Tie Flight Plan SRC to HSI NAV SRC

If I do not have an external navigator, does changing from No to Yes have any effect/make a difference?

Tie Flight Plan SRC to HSI NAV SRC

I have a question about this option found in the Setup Menu > Map Setup screen (see attached). If I've loaded and enabled a flight plan using the Skyview Flight Plan menu, how does this option change Skyview's behavior when switching from No (default) to Yes? Other than the note at the bottom of...

Do I need an audio panel?

I do not have an AP-60 but perusing the instruction manual, this unit is an audio mixer only - it does not have any built-in switching capability. The manual further states "Optionally switches can be installed on the input lines to enable turning off and on specific devices."...

    Back up battery check

I would think when the battery comes close to nearly being totally discharged (around 10.5 - 11 volts?). There isn't much of a difference between 13.8 & 14.2 volts and that difference wouldn't change the charge time by a large amount.

SYS EVENT 3: SYS EVENT 5: Screen Powered Off

I'm aware of the limitations on the total number of read/write cycles with solid state drives. As such, it seems we should have a general idea on Dynon's life-cycle with needing to replace drives, just as we should have a rough idea on planning to replace the back-up batteries. Would reducing...

SYS EVENT 3: SYS EVENT 5: Screen Powered Off

How long can we expect these drives to last before they require replacing? What determines the life of these solid state drives? Is it total # of hours the screens are powered up, number of power on/off cycles or some other parameter we can control/regulate?
