    XPDR Caution

Jake, The ICAO address vulnerability was addressed in a firmware update for the transponder a while ago. We haven't heard of any other issues with it being on during engine start.

What CAN you do with autopilot and no certifiedGPS

Carl, I believe we answered you in another thread. We do not currently have plans for enroute VNAV in SkyView's flight plans. Maybe someday, but you shouldn't buy based on that possibility.

    TIS Only Problem

Thanks for everyone's input. The FAA has identified that the software which increases the requirements to become a TIS-B client was rolled out in a few service volumes earlier than expected. This change was originally scheduled to start on Jan 4th, 2016, but was then supposedly delayed to...

    XPDR Caution

We do document all of the transponder warnings on Page 11-17 of the SkyView System Installation Guide, including this one: TX PSU LOW – Power supply voltage is low What did your voltmeter say about your system voltage?

    XPDR Caution

We'd really need to know the exact error message or number to help. It could be anything from an internal failure of the transponder to a loose power wire to a failing piece of coax. The exact error will help us narrow that down instantly.

    Dynon/AFS Oshkosh 2015: SV-GPS-2020 and much more!

No, the GPS-2020 does not need to use pin 3 on the transponder.

GNS 480/CNX 80 working with SV

If you have two COMs, and one Push-To-Talk switch (commonly, on the stick), there must be a mechanism for "gating" which COM transmits when you push the PTT. Else, you'll be transmitting on the two COMs simultaneously, probably inappropriately on a frequency you meant just to monitor. With the...

    TIS Only Problem

We assume that's what's going on too, but as that article says, and also as our FAA contacts have said, those changes were not supposed to happen for a few weeks, and we first heard of this 3 weeks ago, so we're trying to double check.

    Transponder fail and VPX offline

Just to be clear, the DEMO MODE has nothing to do with your transponder not working. DEMO MODE is a simple software setting where you just load a file to clear it. Your transponder is not working because it's only hooked to one screen and must be hooked to both. This is also true of the VP-X...

    Re: Pitot Boom Construction

The offset does not make a difference. Air does not flow in a pitot. The air's velocity is converted to pressure right at the inlet of the pitot, and all that is in the rest of the system is pressure without flow. So you don't need to make any adjustments and it will work perfectly fine and...

    Transponder fail and VPX offline

Sylvain: If the Serial Port is shown in Red, one of the other serial ports ALSO is set to communicate with your transponder. Go through serial ports 2, 3, 4, and 5 and set the other serial port (that is apparently also set to transponder) to NONE. Then the transponder should work. Put the...

Com to intercom harness wiring question

Audio wiring is acutely sensitive to "ground loops" which can develop if there are multiple ground "paths" in audio wiring. Bringing all the audio grounds to a central point is a good way to ensure that there aren't any "ground loops". The pro's that wire audio harnesses are careful not to have...

SV panel changes - map issues??

Roger, As long as the 10" screen you keep is the one with the map license, it's just plug and play. If the map license is on your 7" screen, it will need to be transferred with our help, but it's not a big deal and we're more than happy to help.
