Well right on both counts. Never realized, when looking at it, he had the Adhars installed in the wing of Cub with the logo pointed down. Duh. Called and told him to install upright. But also a TD so will wait and see if first fix corrects the problem.

Have friend with new install of SV. Everything powers up OK for about 30 sec. Then ADHARS goes off line with an internal failure message, accelerometer fail. Does this unit need to be returned for repair or should we be looking for something else?

Being an old time (I mean old) avionics guy, there have been ocassions with some radios where a diode needs to be placed between the radio and intercom and or audio panel in the PTT line. Make sure the arrow or pointy end of the triangle on the diode points toward the radio.

I have several course indicators lying around and one would be well suited to display course deviation. Is it possible to add such to SV? The one in the display is pretty small for old eyes. Seems there is only RS-232 data coming from the unit, no L- R info.

Yes that is correct but I never noticed it do that before. will keep a look out for it again on next flight. so far really happy with the system as I have not had any of the troubles that others have reported.

Well you should never have the SL 40 in squelch bypass, that is with the knob pulled out. All you will get is white noise or roar unless there is a transmission on the frequency. Turning the volumn up just makes it louder. Leave the bypass in (automatic squelch) and enjoy a nice quiet flight...

It would be nice if I could install the USB Port on the SV furnished pigtail with a bulkhead fitting into my panel. Then I could just plug my crusier dongal into that without fumbling under the panel to find where I tied the pigtail to do my updates and down loads. Is there, maybe, an adapter...

If it were me, I would look for some moisture in the pitot or static line. Could be check quickly by disconnecting the lines at the ADHARS.
