Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS34

Re: Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS3 All now works. I found a setting in the Garmin that was not what you recommended. Corrected that now everything works. I really thought I checked everything (about ten times). The bearing pointer now can be set to NAV and the D bar centers when...

Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS34

Re: Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS3 I have not been able to set the bearing pointers to NAV, they are both set to GPS. With a valid VOR tuned in (identified using the NAV audio) I have been unable to center the D Bar. This installation replaces a Sandel which used to work...

Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS34

Re: Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS3 I have set all the communications to "high" and followed the settings in the wiki but still have the problem. The problem being that the vor frequency is displayed normally on the HSI page (indicating the communications does exist between the...

Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS34

Re: Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS3 What are the settings that Dynon would like? I don't have trutrack so perhaps I can satisfy the setting requirements, only if I know what they are! If you have them please send them along. Thanks Pat

Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS34

Re: Problems with VOR dispay on HSI page using HS3 I too have this exact problem. My Dynon HSI is replacing a Sandel SN3308 which was working perfectly. I have also checked the wiring and all appears in order. Was the original poster's problem due to a wiring issue? any help gratefully...

CHT and EGTs are at cryogenic temperatures

Thanks. I will try that. I did reverse the connection on one of the sensors to see if it would make a difference, but it still read -99. I disconnected the sensor and the reading showed erratic values and finally settled to -99. Does this give any more clues? Pat

CHT and EGTs are at cryogenic temperatures

Just completed installing the EGT and CHT sensors. Fired up the D120 and lo and behold all the CHTs and EGTs read -99 degrees. Removed a CHT sensor from the bayonet fitting warmed it up with a heat gun to where it si too hot to touch, still -99 degrees. This is in northern California where it's...

    HS34 Woes.

No. No lights. It does draw around 65mA though.

Correction and more detail on my HS34 woes

I incorrectly stated that when the HS34 is powered the D10A sees the D120, not so. When the HS34 is powered the two HSIs see only themselves (after configuring each of them). Once the power is removed from the HS34 and the DSAB is configured on the D100 all units (D100, D120 and D10A) appear on...

    HS34 Woes.

I have just fired up my recently installed new panel. It sports one D100, one D120, one D10A and an HS34. I wired the DSAB such that the D100 consumes one port on the D120 and the D10A and HS34 are bussed to the other port. The problem is that the D100 can find nothing if there is power applied...

    EGT and CHT pin assignments.

I cannot find the pin assignments for the EGT and CHT probes. The diagram on page 2-6 of the EMS-D120 installation guide does not show which pins go to which cylinders. I could assume the the top most probes in the diagram go to cylinder #1 but "assume" could mean something else in this case. I...

    Fuel level Voltage vs. Level

Does the EMS-D10 require the fuel level voltage (0 to +5V) to increase with level? In other words if my probes send a voltage that decreases with level, is that OK? Pat

    Re: Compass drift

I am in Northern California near Sacramento. I will get the mag values used when I get home and post them. As I mentioned in the original post, I don;t think there was any magnetic field applied to the sensors. the installation hasn't changed since the calibration. Thanks for the help so far. Pat

    Re: Compass drift

Hi Mel, One of the first things I did was to check the influence of the lights, pitot heat, etc. My ailerons have lead counterweights. Thanks for the input though. Pat

    Re: Compass drift

My sensors are out in the wingtip, not much room for temporary stowage. There is an unlikely possibility that a magnet was placed near the sensors and then removed. Is there a possibility that a permanent change can be caused by such an event? This still doesn't explain the gradual deterioration...

    Re: Compass drift

Let me try again. I have a D10A and a D100, each have their own remote compasses which are mounted one on top of the other. After upgrading to 3.0 I swung the compasses using my King stone age whirling wheels gyro coupled to my Sandel as a reference. Previous measurements have shown the Sandel...

    June download

Forever hopeful. Being in Engineering for more years than I care to count, when engineering says "June", it means June the 31st. Yes, I know there are only 30 days in June. Pat
