    Database Subscription

    If you want to fly IFR approaches, you’ll need a subscription for their database. Seattle will get you charts. If you have a source for other charts (tablet, paper), Seattle isn’t necessary, but they are nice to have.

    You might also check your autopilot servos on the ground. My aileron-servo sheer screw broke and the AP behaved a bit like this in the air. It seemed to be tracking sometimes, but other times not. It is obvious on the ground when your pinky finger can easily fight against the servo.

    Remote USB panel mount

    I have a USB cable with a panel mount that failed on me. Worked fine for a while. Troubleshooting, I can get it to work by pulling out the plug slightly from the back of the Skyview. If fully inserted, no joy. Cheap cables not to the right spec, maybe? Something to consider. It was USB 2.

    What is the purpose for the 60A breaker on the alternator anyway? (Other than everyone seems to have one?) Is there a real risk that one's alternator will ever produce more current than advertised?

    I too would be interested in learning more. The HITS doesn't match LPV approach paths exactly. (GNS-430W via ARINC) P.S. I noted they also didnt show at all in a hold.

    Is there a way to navigate to a runway threshold with version 15 other than Direct-To? E.g. In an existing Skyview flight plan, select a particular runway at the pre-existing flight-plan destination airport?

    Did the QWERTY keyboard option disappear in version 15? I see the new (fancier) layout for keying in waypoints, but even though I've selected QWERTY (vs. ABCD) in the setup menu, it is always ABCD, not QWERTY. Bug?

    Adding Approach Plates to Skyview

    An iPad and SV's wifi (USB) dongle would do the trick. Add the approach to your foreflight route and then send it to SV. Plus, the iPad gives you a backup for paper charts, and GPS, etc.

    Skyview / GNS 430W question

    I'd recommend updating the Skyview install manual. Page 12-7 of Revision W says to use "GAMA 429" which is probably why all of us 430 owners were missing holds, until now.
