    Fuel probe vs EFIS calibration

I have a Vision Micosystems capacitive fuel probe which came installed in my partially completed kit. Since it is custom fit, I need to retain it. I understand I need a converter to change the VM capacitive output to 0-5v DC. While I have been told Princeton Electronics makes such a converter, I...

    AOA and DSAB

I have a question about how I might be able to get AOA to cross indicators using the DSAB. I plan to have a D180 as a master unit with a D100 on the copilot side. I have a standard heated pitot which I had planned to hook to the D180. I have obtained a Dynon AOA probe but it is not heated. If I...

    long term storage of fuel

Many members in the aviation community in which I reside have 100LL storage tanks. I know of no issues with fuel stored for as long as a year. I cannot speak specifically to the Rotax as the only ones based here are the 512 (?) two cycle version. I know there is an additive to reduce lead in...

Wiring guage and fuel sender conversion wiring

I have discovered I need to plan for 5 wires to run to the AP servos. Will 20 gauge suffice for all (run length should be about 15 feet)? As a separate question, I have a Vision Microsystems probe running the full length of my wing. I know it will require a converter to work with the Dynon...

    Templates

Thanks Dynon, I just need the images to plan device locations for now. I wish I needed them to start cutting the instrument panel but that is a ways off just yet. The images help a good bit. Amazingly, Garmin has no such feature to print life size images which means the avionics install will...

    Templates

Thanks for the link. I will use the templates that come with the units when purchased for actual panel cutting but these will be most helpful in planning as I am trying to minimize panel size.

    Templates

I am sure this is a very basic request to most. I am doing panel planning and would like to print a actual size depiction of all the Dynon devices. I did the D100, D120, D180 and Next Gen. I have not found printable pics to use as templates for the HS34, AP 74 and AP 76. They must be here...

    Mounting Bracket for Glasair

I am building a Glasair Super II RG as well and would welcome the pics so an install kit could be developed. Dynon is my choice for for flight instruments and autopilot. The support and responsiveness of the company is one of the major reasons I made the choice to use Dynon.

Linear vs non linear voltage regulator

That jibes with what I thought might be the case. Thanks for the feedback.

    Update D100

I see both the airspace ring and the VOR in the illustration. Neither are labeled. Since I know the image is preliminary, do you know yet if we will have the ability to label the airports/navaids. Will we be able to display airspace vertical contraints?

Linear vs non linear voltage regulator

I am building a Glasair and it is about time to start the electrical system. I do not have an alternator yet. My question is about the power required by the Dynon as I plan to get a D180, D100 and HS34 (maybe AP76). I do have the B&C voltage regulator. They make a big deal out of the fact it is...

    Language lesson

As someone who logged way to much time single engine, at night, over water, with an arrested landing to look forward to....I can say that while every other squadron had to apply their own bravado at the bar, Navy Helo drivers never bought their beer when I was there. I never had to avail myself...

    Language lesson

I read the D180 installation and configuration manual this morning although I am still some distance in the project from ordering hardware. I thought the manual was well written and procedurally easy to follow (bearing in mind I have not done this yet). It seemed straightforward in the...

Converter available for VM1000 fuel probe!

There is good news with regards to the VM1000 fuel probes converters! I got a link to Princeton Electronics and talked with the owner (Todd Stehouwer) today. They make a converter specifically for the VM1000 probes which converts the output to the 0-5v which the Dynon needs. It is part number CP...

Compatability with VM1000 capacitive fuel probes

Re: Compatability with VM1000 capacitive fuel prob Sounds like there is no conversion if I read your reply correctly.

Compatability with VM1000 capacitive fuel probes

I bought an abandoned Glasair project which has capacitive fuel probes in both the wing and fuselage tanks. They are for the VM1000 system but I do not know if they output voltage. Do you know if these will work with your FD 180?
