I have seen this before on Lycomings. I would suggest running a ground wire to the oil filter adapter. I have seen them not grounded well due to the gasket and sealers preventing the adapter from grounding through the engine case. Make sure the engine ground itself is good.

David, it is best that one of the ground wires from the ems is connected directly to the engine, preferably where the battery ground is attached.

Having an EMS module is required to use the VPX and there isn't a work around for it short of doing as you suggest and install the EMS even though it isn't doing anything.

Craig, You can't use the pin for GPS power to power the ADSB module. The GPS runs on 8 volts and ADSB is 12 volts

Mike, On the HDX pressing the MENU button brings up the PFD TOOLS, EMS TOOLS, A/P, etc. so yes, it's a bit different than Classic SkyView's.

FYI, there is a fix for the Sandisk thumb drive issue in V16. We had to change one of the USB drivers in the SkyView.
