    Dynon D6 Brightness

Re the D10A, I find the display plenty bright, was a little wary of this also. I have an RV6, slider, with flat/med black panel, normal amount of hood overhang, also flat/med black. There are no other glossy surfaces in cockpit where light could be reflected, bounced around. I have operated the...

    Altitude above ground

The Garmin GPS series have pop up terrain and obstacles already, with audio alerting avail to intercom, etc. I would think that an EFIS capable of generating accurate obstacle/terrain warnings would need the GPS WAAS enabled input anyway, so redundant? It would also need a huge 3D terrain...

    Flight director&FPV

Bear in mind that there's a difference between a FD and FPV. The FD tells you where to set aircraft pitch and roll, and the FPV tells you where the aircraft is actually going. One example of FPV use would be in a windshear, microburst, or terrain proximity event where aircraft climb angle...

    EDC-D10A HEADING CALIBRATION

Re part 2 of answer, I bought a digital level from Sears that worked great for EDC-10A install and for D10A pitch calibration, about $35. For RV-6, just place on canopy rail for zero pitch reference to aicraft pitch axis.

Location of EDC-D10a for an RV8a

I just mounted the EDC-10A inside the wing tip of my RV6, and made the mounting bracket. With that said, next time I would seriously consider one of these brackets from Avery: http://www.averytools.com/pc-1012-124-remote-compass-mount.aspx In my wing tip, I have a Whelen combo nav/strobe/tail...

D10A problems after firmware 5.1.1 install

Are you saying that you have attitude issues, but only when your GPS is connected? Do your airspeed readings look normal? Yes. In flight, saw left wing down, heading precessed to right, and erroneous wind readouts (like plane was in a substantial crosswind). D10A airspeed matches steam...

D10A problems after firmware 5.1.1 install

I'm running a new D10A with 5.1.1 and a GPS 296. With the GPS 296 providing NMEA data to the D10A on Com 2, I get attitude and heading errors, erroneous wind readouts, etc. Worse in the air, but also seen on ground. Disable GPS 296 output and all problems go away. The GPS 296 is driving a NavAid...

    Connecting a garmin 296 to a D10A

Also using a GPS 296 to feed a D10A. With data output enabled to D10A get attitude and heading errors in flight, or after lots of turns on ground. Disable GPS serial output and problem goes away, just lose wind readout on D10A, as using D10A stand alone, no A/P. 5.1.1 firmware. Using GPS 296...

    Problems after Update 5.1

I just want to know because i am flying IFR with the dynon and i don'T want to have a suprise. The D10A is for VFR only. You'd better have backups for every essential function of this non-TSOed, VFR only device.

    Backup battery

Just installed D10A with backup battery. Started airplane, avionics master-on, D10A came on fine, etc. Airplane sits a couple of days, airplane battery shows 12.2 vdc, D10A will only pwr to blue Dynon screen, then right back off, then back to blue screen, etc.. repetitively. Is this indicative...

    296/495

I presently have a GPS 296 output driving a NavAid A/P (roll only). I would like to use the second GPS 296 output to send GPS info direct to D10A. Would you anticipate any connectivity or other problem(s) with this approach? Thanks.
