    EMS-D120 Warning lamp output

Assuming you have setup your alarms etc the light will light up on power up as you will (should!) have no oil px when the engine is stopped.

    Fuel Used question

I thought that the Flowscan sensors gave arond 30000 pulses per gallon. Surely 8333 pulses per Liter is sufficient to measure to 0.1L?

    Fuel Used question

When displaying in Litres the 'fuel used' only displays to the nearest half 'L'. I've looked everywhere but there does not seem to be an option to change this (other than to galls). Is it possible to have the fuel used displayed to the nearest 0.1L ?

    EMS-D120 Alarms Enhancement Request

Just to be sure, I know that this is the case at the moment but are you saying that this will never be possible (due to system design etc)? thanks

    EMS Rotax engine type

Okay, I understand that. If I do select "Rotax" what limits are selected? I can't find any info in the manuals as to what perameters "Rotax" actually uses.

    EMS-D120 Alarms Enhancement Request

Is it possible to have the choice as to which alarms are suppressed? There is one that I have that I consider very important (it alarms if the turbo control unit on my Rotax 914 is not powered) but it gets lost too easily among the oil px etc. It would be nice to be able to suppress all the...

    EMS Rotax engine type

How do we tell the ems which type of Rotax we have? The Oil temperature and CHT limit is Higher for the 912 than for the 912S and 914 912 Oil temp range is 50-140c 912S and 914 is 50-130c 912 CHT is 150c 912S and 914 is 135c

    Contacts & software updates

I finally got to have a go at solving this yesterday. I only had a 2.2k resistor in my spares box and it works with that. Is it okay to stick with that or is there some reason to drop to 1k?

    Contacts & software updates

I've got it set up to show OPEN/RED and CLOSED GREEN. With the master switch on the display remains green regardless of CB position. The voltage with the CB in is ~12v (battery could probably do with a charge as the aircraft has not flown for a month) and with the CB out is ~2v. This line is...

    Contacts & software updates

I finally got round to wiring this today and have hit upon a problem. I have connected pin 9 to the power supply to the TCU between the CB and the TCU. With the aircraft master switch on the contact1 is seeing closed regardless of CB position. With the Master switch off and the D180 running...

    Contacts & software updates

Just to add another question to this, is it possible to use one of the contacts to detect if 12v is being supplied to something (the Turbo Control Unit on a rotax 914 in this case). I think from your answer to the fuel pump question above that I can do this but I just want to be sure. What I...

    Rotax 914 EGT probe

Try www.sportflyingshop.com who sell the MGL Stratomaster range. The Stratomaster dealer here in the UK sells stratomaster EGT probes which fit the 914 threads (metric).

    CHT/EGT pin assignments?

See http://www.dynonavionics.com/downloads/Install_Guides/100600_-_Rev_B_-_FlightDEK-D180_Installation_Guide_-_text-_web.pdf page 2-9 for the CHT and 6-15 for the contacts.

    EMS RS232 data output.

I was thinking of getting one of the small stand alone rs232 dataloggers to capture the EMS and/or EFIS data on my D180. I've read the info in the manuals but I can't seem to find any info on the amount of data that is output. If I have a logger with 256mb capacity, how many hours of data can I...

    Dynon GPS Support

Well my first question is how much will that lot weigh? The best (tongue in cheek) advise that I had when I was building was to take anything that I was thinking of adding to the aircraft and threough it in the air. If it comes back down it's too heavy :) Anyway back to your question. I would...

    Dynon GPS Support

I can confirm that the Skymap IIIc works with the Dynon but can't comment on the autopilot. Picture of the HSI driven by the Skymap at http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1167702850

    HSI Test Flight

It's a Europa. There was a "little" turbulence about. The next picture in the sequence taken about three seconds later shows 650fpm up with much the same attitude. Earlier in the flight we had 2250fpm up at 75% pwr in mountain wave. (and yes, the wind readout is correct!)

    HSI Test Flight

It was my first real chance to have a play with the HSI today and it's ace! 130kts true off 100hp and only 50% power.  The 171kts groundspeed is even better!

    Returnline rotax 914

Not had more than about 30mins flying yet due to the wx but I do have 914 and D180. What do you want to know?

    RPM not working

As long as it is connected as per the manual (using the resistor) it should work. It might be worth checking that the line that you have connected it to (RPM L or R) is the one that the D120 is trying to display.
