    Product Suggestion

I can't remember where I got that start button. I just did some searching on the internet for automotive start buttons. It's in my brothers Glastar. It is lit. I wired it so that it comes on with the left mag only.

    Product Suggestion

I used Front Panel Express for a couple of panels. They do a nice job except the lettering styles. I used my own style. They powder coat in several colors also. http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/

    D-100: Horribly Inaccurate Wind Indication

If the 270 is a compass reading, it looks like your compass is 25 degrees different from the ground track of 295. The flight path indicator doesn't seem to agree with that difference. If there is no crosswind, the compass and GPS directions should be the same. Also the GS of 127mph is different...

Compass calibration - errors and solution found

Curse you Red Baron. You did beat me :-[ Next time I'll add a few chandells or Immelmanns to see if that improves things. The lazy eight inevitably turn into wing overs after the first couple but the score stopped at 123. Still the question of will the air calibration fix a shoddy on ground...

Can you recommend a Torque Driver?

After twisting off the first replacement, I finger tightened the second one to where it was fully inserted. No tools needed. I suspect the lock tight will hold the screw in place once it sets.

Request for 5% Wide EMS Screen!!!!

The problem with just numbers is that even the 5%ers are going to switch back to at least the 20% EMS display to figure out what is going on. Just "how bad" is it, is real bad when it lights up red. That also necessitates a quick way to switch. I personally think a few precious seconds wasted...

Compass calibration - errors and solution found

Out of curiosity, how good does the ground calibration need to be? If the aircraft is roughly pointed it in the approximate compass cardinal directions for the ground calibration, will a good (100+) in air calibration remove the errors? Also I got a few more points by doing lazy eights after...

    Compass Rose

You can probably make up one yourself with a 100 metre rope, a WAAS handheld GPS and a little trig. WAAS accuracy is about a metre. One metre in 100 is about a half a degree: atan (1/100). Is that accurate enough for the compass calibration? Paint a start point. Anywhere north and south will...

    42 Reg Servo

They are a separate item unless you buy a servo package. The mounting brackets are airplane specific except for the generic one. http://dynonstore.com/#!/Mounting-Brackets-&-Kits/c/13788234/offset=0&sort=normal

Skyview frequency display without Dynon Com radio

The GPS495 automatically pushes a number of airport frequencies to radios that work that way. It pushes the DTO (or flight plan) frequencies but also seems to push the nearest airport frequencies which is handy to get the AWOS as you're flying by. When you start up the nearest airport is the one...

    Back up battery life

I take exception to that. Our summers up here are fairly cool also.

    PFD Terrain Brightness on 13.0.3

I had it happen without the charts in version 13.0. I thought it was a cool new feature. ;)

    DYNON Pitot/AOA Plumbing hardware

I'm in agreement with Skysailor and Dynon. The last static/pitot check I had revealed leaks at the connectors so I run new continuous lines from the pitot to ADAHRS when I replaced the pitot recently.

    Dynon/AFS Oshkosh 2015: SV-GPS-2020 and much more!

Getting enough signals for lock and getting correct signals for an accurate position are two different things. I used a handheld GPS receiver to try and navigate to a survey monument under a forest canopy and never got within 50 metres because of multipath and other signal errors caused by the...

    Does Skyview Log Flight?

Did you leave the keys in it? Sounds like someone took a joy ride. ;) Savvy shows the flight from when you turn on Skyview to when you shut Skyview off even if you don't leave the ground. Did you maybe leave Skyview on overnight to charge the battery?

    Does Skyview Log Flight?

This program will read the User Data Logs and display a log including Data and Time, Duration and Distance. Plus it will plot the flight on Google Earth. http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1424455192/20#33

    Easier METAR Info

No comment on the weather information as we don't have ADS-B in Canada :-/ Best we have if Foreflight with a 4G iPad but don't tell anyone I said 4G and inflight weather together. I haven't looked at the colors on the map that closely. Dynon mentioned that they can all be manually modified...

    High CHT notification

Thanks David. Good to know that unless we set or do something disastrously wrong there is little chance of hurting the type of engine most of us fly behind. That fact that most POHs of certified aircraft suggest the 50F ROP cruise setting is testimony that they are not concerned about...
