    ICOM A210E

Yeah. I'm maxed out on serial ports >:( so I'm going to stay with the GPS495->iCOM A210 combo. Actually seems a lot simpler to use then what hss been reported here about using SV to push the frequencies. :-/

    Battery test

Jeff R. Your charger probably doesn't have enough output to charge both batteries. I run the battery test and went to charge the backup battery by charging the airplane battery. With 4A charge the SV backup battery switched between charging and standby. The other day 4A was sufficient to keep...

    Skyview Fuel Flow Questions

You might want to review the recommendations in the Skyview Installation Manual (page 7-41). If the cube is at a peak in the line it's probably trapping air bubbles.

    Battery test

My charger did the same thing. The more expensive chargers are made to pulse on and off for whatever reason. The Dynon backup battery needs 12.25 volts before it will charge. I believe it's made that way so it will only charge when the alternator is working. A normal aircraft battery won't...

    Transponder antenna splitter?

GTX327's are made for dual installations. Pin 16 is an external standby switch. See the wiring diagram in the back of the GTX327 Installation Manual. Of course that doesn't solve the problem of one frying the other through the common antenna. :(

    Fuel consumption via injector impulse

I think if you do the investigation and review Dynon's explanation above you'll come to the conclusion that using the duty cycle isn't all that accurate. The short answer is that it's NOT measuring fuel flow. It's measuring how long the injectors stay open which is only part of the equation. How...

    5.1 Log Data Problem

Thanks. I'll try those a try and see which will work for me. :)

    Feedback on SL-30 and Usability

There is an easier way. Check page 5 of the SL40 Pilots Guide. I have the iCOM A210 connected to my GPS495 and it works on the Garmin protocol the same as the SL30/40. If Skyview uses the Garmin protocol it should work the same. I believe that unless you have an active DTO selected, the radio...

    Fuel consumption via injector impulse

Check out PWM on Google. Basically electronic fuel injectors change the mixture or fuel flow by the duration of how long they stay open. If they are open all the time (100%), it equals 48 lph. If they only stay open half the time it's equal to 24 lph. The signal on the wire is the same as it...

    5.1 Log Data Problem

No fix in version 6.0 >:( I'm getting anxious to plot my AFR against EGT's with savvy analysis. :(

    Skyview Backup Battery Test Wizard

Nice job on the backup battery status/test functions :)

    Tachometer and P-mags

I have the P-Mags and hooked up both but you don't need to. They supply a continuous pulse even during mag checks so connecting to either is OK. P-Mags supply a 12V pulse made for EFIS's. You don't need the resistors and use pins 32/33 on the Skyview.

    Rotax fuel flow too high

Check to see if the second (return) cube is working. There is a status display in the sensor setup.

After update to 5.1 I get a error with servos.

Check the network configuration. I had to do a network detection when I reinstalled my EMS.

    shortcut to airport "Info" screen?

If it follows the Garmin standard as suggested I believe the nearest airport is available all the time. I have a GPS495 connected to my iCOM A210. When I turn on my avionics at CYXE The GPS495 feeds the CYXE frequencies to the iCOM almost as soon as it has a fix. I scroll though the frequencies...

    Problem after updrading V5.1

Did you pull out the USB before it rebooted? Try sticking it in again and reboot. It takes a couple of reboots to fully update. You may want to try and download the files again as one may have been corrupt.

    HKS 700E Electrical Question

For comparison, my Skyview draws 3.1A in flight. I have ADAHRS/EMS/GPS. My GTX327 xponder draws 0.7A and my iCOM A210 radio draws 0.4 when not transmitting. If you use LEDs for lights they hardly draw anything. The LED strobes draw 5A once in a while to recharge. It's not a continuous draw. See...

    Static and Pitot Checks

The static and pitot checks required every two years are a PITA to perform using the methods described on page 5-11 in the Skyview Installation Manual. Granted the checks aren't required often, but it would be nice to be able to put Skyview in a test mode so that it doesn't do any attitude...

    Servo Power Switch - Requirement

I put in an AP power switch because I seen it on several checklists and thought it a necessity. But I agree with Dynon that's it's not required on their system. The disengage/CWS button is required. I mounted mine on the stick and use it regularly. You can turn off the power to the servos...
