Just to say this officially, but physically modifying products in ways that aren't documented in our installation manuals is not supported and is considered damaging to the product. Additionally, we aren't able to cover damaged products under warranty.

In general, no. You'll end up with badly attenuated audio. You generally want some active audio mixer for this purpose (or audio panel). There are a few listed here, though I'm not sure how many of these companies are still around...

That is how it's documented, but, it also may work hooked up to the EFIS pin. If anything, it may not transmit the GPS over to the EMS side for fuel computer type of calculations. The the HSI/AP functionality would work regardless. My bet (without being able to test it) is that it'll work either...

Well, it's not likely to be the radios if you've got the same issue on both radios (and they're different brands/makers). I'd probably try a different headset first, simply because it's the easiest thing to change and test.

There isn't any position estimating without GPS. IE, SkyView doesn't fall back to any inertial type stuff for position - you need REALLY great sensors in an ADAHRS - the kind you'd find on an airliner - to be able to do that.

For what it's worth, it's RS485-based, not RS232. But regardless, we do not currently have a published specification for SkyView Network communciations.

That's correct. The remote magnetometer is not certified in the SkyView HDX STC installation.
