    Dynon Skyview interface board

Foxlees - you should reconsider your post #4 above, I’ve been using the Makerplane.org 25 way hub for years with all sorts of equipment (mainly Dynon) & they work with ALL the Dynon equipment !! Please explain your reasoning 🤔

SV ADSB 472 installing via a hub

    Correct, my bad 🙄 - my excuse= I’m on vacation 😉

SV ADSB 472 installing via a hub

Yes - you could just also pair the ground/ power from the Port 5 GPS to complete the install😉

    RPM Pmags

Ok guys, let’s cool it please. The manual says you only NEED ( my emphasis) 1 x rpm output however you can have 1 for each mag if you want 😉.

Fuel flow reading 0.0 and fuel remaining not decreasing

Didn’t I just say that  - must be an echo here 😉

Fuel flow reading 0.0 and fuel remaining not decreasing

From my experience one of the main reasons for the symptoms you are having is probably because the white covered wiring out of the unit was bent over too much. That wire is too stiff & causes too much strain on the sensor components when it is bent over. IF this is the case then the only...

Auto pilot tuning- slip and trim warnings.

I don’t own 1 but have plenty of working experience with them. You could also disconnect temporarily the static line (be aware that WILL have some affect on the altimeter etc) to determine if there are errors caused be incorrect placement/style/shape of the ports. Also - are the servos...

Auto pilot tuning- slip and trim warnings.

Hi Peter, I’m not sure of the full process you used however I’ve installed a/pilots in 10 Arions & have not had an issue - first steps I use are these - The basics first —- Don’t use the a/pilot yet. Make sure the HDX skid ball is centred when at cruise speed. Use a ruder trim tab if you need...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

Hi Stevec - there are so many variables here. The early supplied thermo-couple wiring looms were using a single, very thin, conductor & same applied to the probe side resulting in very poor junctions (we are talking about millivolts here so the junctions are critical to get reliable results). I...

    HDX: "EMS SFG FILE MISMATCH"

Read the screen when you get that message, do as it says, read the manual - it's self explanatory.

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

IME it’s the actual crimp section of the spade that’s mainly the issue (besides some people using incorrect crimpers) as the crimp section metal body is only half what it is when using the type I mentioned. The probes Dynon supply are very unlikely to be a problem, I’ve connected several hundred...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

Any old connector won’t do - dsub pins/sockets, thermal or olc will work - I use the spades as per post #5 above, not el cheapo types, as they are much more robust ie they are made of thicker plate tinned material. The other benefit is you don’t need to change out the connectors on the probe...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

Just a couple of points here given that I’ve had a bit of experience with over 70 installs 🙄. OLC’s work, but are fiddly with the very small grub screws & the joints need heat shrink to insulate them. Those very small grub screws can be very hard to find if you drop them. Correct re the pink...

OK Now I have 2 Autopilot installs working at the same time :-)

Generally the RS232 or NMEA data out can be split around 4 ways & you can configure the Dynon port for basic or full/advanced data output - not sure if the datastream will do what you need ,maybe support will chime in here ? Would be useful to know for 'Experimental' market anyway.

    Fuel tank calibration

Bruce - I usually give the wing a thump above the sensor (Float types) after adding fuel at each step of the fill - it does help to mitigate the hysteresis inherent with the float type units.

    Fuel tank calibration

Do you have a fuel flow unit installed? IMO a ’calibrated’ Fuel Flow computer is the best insurance against notoriously inaccurate fuel gauges. ’we’, in Oz are required to have fuel gauges however a lot of pilots don’t trust them & rely on the Fuel Flow computer. YMMV 😉 ps - with a fuel computer...

Is your a/pilot involved with the recent SB ? Worth a look ;)

Another method that is useful for those who have a fixed compass - use it as the reference & note what RV8JD says above. 😉

    Seattle Avionics vs Airmate

Reasonable price . Good luck with that, Boeing now also bought OzRunways so there is less incentive for competition on their part IMO.

    K Factor on Fuel Flow

FYI - I’d be trying to better that - it’s easily possible to get that to within a 1/4 gallon, just saying, if you want to. ;)
