    SV-472 to GTN/IFD units

Not quite, they do accept serial third party devices. I just realised though, thinking about it more, the 472 has serial out, but it will not include your altitude and heading, so no it can't be paralleled to the Skyview. Sky view processes it to traffic relative to you. If there was a way to...

Magneto noise on EGT & CHT

Hi Ray, I had looked at that, however those filters are for the old bend mags that did not have internal capacitors, or so I believe. Adding capacitance might work but what are the negative effects on the points. One of the good folk at Dynon has reminded me of capacitive D SUB filters, which...

    SV-472 to GTN/IFD units

Has anyone tested or tried a SV-472 serial output connected to a serial input on a GTN for traffic? Is the data format compatible? Could be useful...... :)

Servo swap and "Shoutout" to Dynon

They ARE the best in terms of customer service of any supplier I have dealt with in aviation. Along with say GAMI, they are hard to beat :D I might be a bit biased :-)

Magneto noise on EGT & CHT

Has anyone experienced noise on their thermocouples induced from the magneto's. these are Bendix 1200 mags, with screened cable and grounded well on the mag body. The EMS module is very well grounded too. We are going to look at segregation to the most possible, however I have not seen this...

    D100/AP74 problems

Do a AP calibration just in case someone has filed with it. You can have a broken screw and it still grips enough to give you a feeling of it not being broken.

    Turn anticipation onto final?

The GNS does not do the same GPSS output like the GTN, so I expect this is the issue. You can tighten up the settings but it is a GNS output I reckon. YMMV of course :-)

Autopilot hunted 4 degrees in TRK-ALT mode

My idea is make sure ALL your linkages are rock solid. if there is any sloppy controls, even a rod end with some slack in it, you will get this. The maths in the AP can't solve mechanical issues. It will deal with what it has as best it can. Like a broken shear screw, that still partly grabs...

    Abrupt pitch variations

Are you using the inner most hole on the servo arm that you can without over centre issues? If not do so. Then check for slack or backlash in the control rods/cables etc. There needs to be hardly any. Slack in a rod end or anywhere will drive you nuts :o

    MAP sensor errors

Yes. And having lived with spot on MAP sensors for years, I am surprised to be seeing the not so spot on ones. And this is not my first rodeo ;)

    MAP sensor errors

Well, today I found a brand new one that is also out in the 0.5 to 0.6" range. To the post above, well it may not be an airworthiness problem, but it is an annoying error, and when one of them reads 30.4 when it should be 29.8 and another new one is 30.4 (that I had in stock) it is a bit...

    MAP sensor errors

How many people have bothered to test their Manifold Pressure sensor? Well compare not test, against their altimeter? I have discovered at least 2 now that are out by1/2" or so recently and about to compare a new unit. My own is spot on but before I raise this in a formal manner with Dynon I...

    averaging some engine data

You have loose connections or poor connections if they are bouncing around by 10 degrees (CHT) so re-terminate them.

    CHT cooldown alarm

Just for the historical record, Shock cooling DOES NOT EXIST. Let me explain. The issues that cause cracking in in heads are built in from the start, and the thing that brings them about is pressure cycles (about 20 per second) and temperature of the head (less strength at high temp). The...

% HP - Dynon vs AFS

Basicall the AFS unit is probably showing a lookup table for ROP operations only. Dynon has always been correct with aROP/LOP cut over. when LOP the HP calculation is based on fuel flow. In the certified world traditionally they have all been wrong, except the ORACLE. Dynon has led the way! ;)

    My Winds Aloft Reading Error

Or fly a GPS box test and compare the TAS you were doing with the GPS average, if it is within 2 knots it is good. Our RV10 was 9 knots slow on IAS and TAS. I had to put a small fence in front of the static port.

    Complete System Failure In Flight

How to recover……HAND FLY ;) I have seen the HSI flicker also, not very often, maybe once or twice, and the AP stayed engaged. I have a GTN750. I have wondered if it was a GPS thing.

Will DynonServos fly you down the glideslope?

But YOU can fly the glideslope ;) Hand on throttle.

    Complete System Failure In Flight

As I said in a previous post on this topic, this is what sets Dynon apart from the rest. Well done guys! :)
