Dynon actually sets a pretty high standard for avionics manufacturers to compete with. Compared to the certified world where the big G dominate, Dynon are miles in front. I am with you Bob. Dynon rocks! :D

Jake there was no out of line inference at all. I said and I repeat…… I am not sure why those problems existed, but when fed direct to the SV-EMS all the problems went away." That is exactly how it is. no dispute. The industry I am in, is industrial automation, and I am 100% sure an analogue...

Not sure about vast knowledge…….in fact I find increasinginglt I want more :D But just to be sure you appreciate where I am coming from, I recently (March-May 2014) went to a three screen SV with he new Knob and Button panel. I also went from CBs to a VPX pro. As you say fuses went out. I...

Folks, if you want the VPX to manage your trim keep it. If you want the Skyview AP to manage it, don't you think it is really worth the few bucks for the separate AP controller and integrated trim. The Knob and button units are the best thing you can add to your panel, and it is not hard to...

I should have explained in greater detail perhaps. If you were displaying fuel flow in Litres not USG, the GAMI Spread in the EMS would show a value with LPH beside it. If however you went to the data and looked at the data log it would actually be say 0.3GPH yet the display showed 0.3 LPH...

Steve, You are correct, it requires a bunch of additional electronics and all the pins required to power the servo's and take the inputs. There is a D-SUB 15 pin connector dedicated to the task. It is a small price to pay by the way. The system is excellent! Here are my comments from VAF

    SV-ap-panel trim controller

Folks, There is coming soon the auto trim software which will control the trim in roll and pitch. If you used relays to drive off the trim outputs, that would make for really weird flap extensions when the software wanted to retrim when the AP is engaged :o Operate flaps with either a VPX or...

I would call that a correct assumption and correct procedure. As for Dynon revealing a proprietary pice of code for a very good EMS…... :-? I would not even ask! ;)

Unless I am dreaming and wrong, with the GTN if you hit the CDI button from GPS to LOC the output to the HSI goes from GPS to LOC with just that one touch.

    Dynon N Number Setup

Just remember to go back and change it later! A note for AUSTRALIAN READERS When putting your tail number in USE ONLY the three letter registration. DO NOT put the VH- in your ID. For any RAAus registered LSA's consult with RAAus for details and your hex code.

OK I have an even better deal for you, and a LOT cheaper than doing a course in Ada. Brisbane 27-29 March. Air New Zealand (Worlds best Airline they say) is $500 return! Will be a heap of fun and educational! :D

Your understanding of applying Mike Bush's Red Fin (because he graphed it that way) is quite sound. By the way Mike did the APS class many years ago….THREE TIMES. Not because he was dumb, because he was pationate in learning and applying it to his new (then) business. To answer your question...

Perhaps I can help here; First of all I must declare I am part of the Advanced Pilot Seminars team, and Andrew Denyer and myself run the APS Engine Management Made Easy classes in Australia, and along with John Deakin, Walter Atkinson and George Braly in the USA do our best to help people...

    Holding patterns

We underprivileged aviators down under do not get holds at all, UNLESS the procedure have what is known as a a mandatory hold. Garmin will only display holds that are a mandatory part of the approach data. It may be possible that your approach has one and is one of the few in the USA that are...

    SV-KNOB-PANEL skips/jumps Altitudes

IS this related to the fix for the CRS bug? Sounds similar. If so then the fix should be fine, the Alpha & Beta test software for the next version have not displayed any jumps so far………fingers crossed. ;)

Agreed, when the MDA is set you get the minimums calls, what more do you need. More is not always better. We are pilots. :)

John, that is an excellent post. Not sure about your IFR requirements, but here the rules require two pilots to enter and cross check entered data. Of course when doing single pilot IFR, you do not have a second pilot, so it is the pilots responsibility to not only enter the waypoints but then...
