    Altitude adjustment on D-10A

I will try that today. I did adjust this setting thinking it was a bias to get the first on setting correct. I will run this against a certified altimeter to insure it is correct and not expect it to come up exactly correct. I do not think factory calibration will be necessary but will follow up...

    Trim Calibration Question for Neutral

Jae, I see where you are trying to go with this. Actually, if you install the position sensors and calibrate the full up and down positions, the Skyview will know the entire range. Once this is done you could simply put the trim tabs to the faired position you seek and note the position on the...

    Altitude adjustment on D-10A

It is selected on in the menu. Mind you, the D10A is a stand alone in this aircraft. There are no other Dynon products. The only interaction is the Garmin 396 serial input and the output to a Tru Trac autopilot. How might I change the altitude calibration of the EFIS?

    Trim Calibration Question for Neutral

Bearing in mind that elevator trim actually trims the aircraft to an angle of attack, the "neutral" position will vary depending based on that factor. It would only be in the exact same position when the aircraft weight, indicated speed and G loading are identical to the time the original...

    Altitude adjustment on D-10A

I thought the Dynon EFIS units took the barometric elevation at shutdown into memory so that when the unit is powered back up it adjusts the Kolsman value so the baro would match what it was. My D-10A is always about 100' high on startup. Is there a way to adjust it so it will do this correctly...

    Erratic RPM Reading

Had the same thing happen on a project I helped complete. Jake is right. Ours took 60K to make the RPM steady.

    Tach leads

Re: Tach leads Take a good look in your installation manual. The Dynon connection to the mag is at the other end of this wire where it connects to the mag/ignition switch. The good news is that those connections are likely ring or spade terminals and therefore much easier to work with. They...

    Base map features

What features are available on the Skyview map after the trial period expires if the license is not purchased? Is anything there or does it simply not come up at all? If anything is there (airspace or airports for example), can it be updated?

    Skyview Acro Capabilities

Dynon Support will probably be along shortly to give the specifics but if the rate limits of the ADAHRS are exceeded I believe the display will go to a monochrome presentation to let you know the attitude is unreliable. If the aircraft is flown straight and level the Dynon will recover all by...

    AUTOPILOT, UNCOMMANDED DISCONNECT

Certainly sounds like a connection that is faulty. Have you rechecked all the crimps? If you get the system operating on the ground, can you cause a failure by wiggling the harnesses and connections?

    EMS Screen Layouts

I would give up the really nice graphics mmarien has devised if I could keep the wind arrow. Wind right on the tail at 20% of indicated is pretty nice!

    Weather

Getting the weather through a tie in to ADSB (at least in the US) would be the direction I hope you are headed. We already paid for this with our tax dollars and it would be nice not to have to find a way to fund yet another subscription.

Connecting older GNS 430 to Skyview

Good news...the 430 and Skyview are working perfectly now. Thanks to everyone (and Dynon Support) for responding. I can post the settings here but shouldn't they also be in the Wiki? I will post the settings here tomorrow after I record them all. If anyone can give me the proper way to add to...

Connecting older GNS 430 to Skyview

My understanding about the Garmin digital transponders is that they can accept the serial stream from the Dynon and use it to report altitude vice using an encoder. I do not think the transponder serial out is read by the Dynon. I hope the Skyview can interface with a legacy 430 since only a...

Connecting older GNS 430 to Skyview

I read the Wiki about settings on both the Dynon and the Garmin 430. The setup is in a friend's plane and I am trying to help set it up as practice for my own Skyview install in the next few months. The issue is that the 430 is non WAAS and given that the ARNC 429 menus are not identical to the...

    Boom Pitot

Toad, Have you considered mounting the L probe on the bottom of the fuselage? If you put it opposite the mid canopy position or further aft I believe you would have ground clearance when parked with the nose on the ground. As long as it is parallel to the chord of the wing it should be accurate.

    Dedicated Knob Modgule

I agree. It would be great to have a very small unit that could be mounted in a console which would allow adjustments without reaching all the way to the panel. Would probably be easier to adjust in turbulence as well.

    Rotax 912 Coolant Pressure

Look at the radiator cap for the 912. In all automotive applications the maximum pressure is annotated there. Just a thought. In cars it is usually 12-15 PSI.

    Displaying GNS430 Track and Waypoints

Remember that the term "airways" is generic these days. I have seen it applied to Q routes as well. As such, the ability to use them for route input is a very strong plus for those of us who will have a long distance IFR capability in addition to the "just for fun" local flying we all enjoy.
