Harvey You're on the mark here. The issue is RF and that's why I use RG400 coax to help mitigate the effects of it, also having the transmitter close to the Dynon doesn't help either. I have a situation with a D100 on top of a 430W (LHS panel) & D180 next to a Microair Com (RHS panel)...

Sorry Trev, should have been more specific - just thought you may not have orientated the 'cube' correctly ie arrow on it facing the direction of return flow to tank. ;) Jake J

pin 3 on both connectors is the minimum grounds needed, rest is dependent on sensors needed etc/fitted ;) Jake J

If this is a 2200 or 3300 Jabiru engine then try a 50kOhm resistor & increase as necessary to get desired result but no more than 100kOhm is needed. Jake J

Richard You could try using the 'filter' type dsub connectors on the EMS module and also make sure you have the RG400 (low loss) coax cable out from the Icom - I never use any other type as it gives no problems when mixed with other power/ground wires etc ;) Jake J

mmarien As yours is a composite plane I'd add a braided earth 'strap' from your ground bus direct to the Dynon case - simple, low cost and worth a try ;) I'll pm you. Jake J

John Is the magnetometer mounted perpendicular to the panel and not level with stringers on fuselage? Jake J

David Static system issues - that's what I've been trying to get Denis to figure out. Denis I'm not sure if you did this specifically but disconnect the static line and then do the run up - IF all is ok then you do have a partial blockage caused by water or kinked static line. :) Jake J

Yep, or ........... Sometimes I solder the shield onto the dsub connector instead. ;) Jake J
