The compass and GPS should be the same or very similar on the ground. The GPS also can be set to show true north as opposed to magnetic north which would always show the declination difference when compared to a compass. Are your cardinal directions magnetic or true? I believe they should be...

RV-4. I have the Jeppensen database for North American and it shows a number of runways for Canadian airports. As Dynon states, you have to have the mapping option, a valid database and synthetic vision turned on. Lining up 27 in Saskatoon:

If you are reading half the RPM then it's reading half the pulses per revolution that it needs. It probably is getting one pulse and is set for two per revolution. Switch the FlightDEK 180 to one pulse per revolution. That was the solution for the P-Mags with my Skyview.

I had that message once, but a power recycle fixed it. If both screens give the same message, I'd look at the wiring or battery condition as you most likely wouldn't have two bad SV in a row. There are a number of timers (starting pp 5-4 of User Manual). Two (Engine Trip and Flight Trip) can be cleared at any time. There is no count down timer or alarm both of which would be handy. If your looking for fuel timers there are a number of those also. They all can be displayed on the ENG...

You may want to review all the screen shots in ver 3.2 of the Pilot User Manual especially in the PFD Operation section as the location of the wind data and the nav sources data have switch sides. It could be a bit confusing for someone not aware of the 3.2 update. Wouldn't the OAT be better...

I just assumed that the long probe wires were made for harsh environments (wire braid cover) so I used the length to make the connections to the harness at the back of the engine well away from the heat of the exhaust and cylinders themselves.

Don't forget air space in synthetic vision.

Another problem is with images. The old version use to display images from a ftp or http site. The new doesn't display the ftp images, just a link.

Just got back and updated to 3.2. Looks like all the airports are showing up on the map now. Great job. Thanks. :) I compared the old display with the new slightly larger text. I noticed that the blocking around the text is darker and color has been used to help highlight. I guess that helps...

I believe that is the preferred way. SV is made to take the voltage dip during start but will reset if the voltage goes too low. The backup battery will keep SV on during start if that happens. You want it on to check the oil pressure after start.
