    Warning

I thought holding the 1-2-5 buttons is a warm boot and SV will just reboot and continue to run. I believe holding the 1 button will shut SV down - or turn it on. The one minute timeout is a nice feature. I've flicked the master ON/OFF a few times while working on something only to come back the...

    SV-250-GPS Clarification

With the new 2.6 software update serial out can be from both displays as per the docs. However, I think the SV-GPS-250 is serial data out only device so connecting the RX to either/both displays does nothing. You might want to connect both just in case that changes in the future.

    Skyview compatible D10A sized instrument

I sympathize with oldngrey. It's hard to place anything next to the SV and be happy with the looks of it.

Map Features - Your Input Requested

I agree with most of the stuff mentioned. A paper map is handy for planning trips but in flight being able to obtain data from the digital map in front of you is a more convenient method. 1 Display of the information is important. Toggling layers of info on or off could be a user setup item...

    Skyview compatible D10A sized instrument

IMHO that probably won't happen as there already are several complaints about the size of the info on the 7" screen let alone a 4" screen. I just got rid of all those gas gauges to make room for the largest SV screen Dynon offered. It was a selling point for me. Lightened my plane by fifty...

G meter G Meter G METER... come on dynon...

Good move. In Canada I don't have a lot of obstacles in the FAA database but I was demonstrating one that was there on the SV by taking a dive at a tower so that it showed up on the SV. My GPS495 (connected thru my audio) blurted out "Obstacle, pull up, pull up." That clinched it. While...

    Skyview software 6.2

One screen isn't affected. Use either software version 2.5 or 2.6 I believe that with two screens, you can wire the transponder from both screens so that if one fails, the other will still provide data to the transponder. You need version 2.6 for this to work properly.

    Map Position Error

I agree. Rivers are a future detail yet the Saskatchewan Rivers show up on my Skyview. They aren't acurate. See the youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0o0rgQoqL0M While I stay the middle of the river, the river slides off the left side of the screen. I don't think this is a big...

    HSI current capabilities?

I use the Garmin GPS495 for NAV on SV and the HSI displays the VNAV that the 495 outputs.

    Serial data output formats

The one thing that the A210 doesn't do is input a single freq from the 396/496. With the SL30/40 you can select a freq from any place in the 396/496 database and export it to the COM by highlighting it and pressing enter. Doesn't work with the A210. Garmin 396/496 will input TIS data either...

Looks like the COM outputs are future for now: http://www.dynonavionics.com/docs/news_technology_preview.html What are you using to output the VHF to the iCOM A210 and how is that working for you?

    Obstacle  Database v2.5

I noticed that some (many) of the towers around CYXE show up on the Skyview display. However we don't have any zones or airports. Just a few navigation points (VOR's etc.) which was expected as the navigation infomation is only available near the US border. I realize that the obstacle database...

7" display font size, and battery backup

NAV is green and GPS is magenta. I think my GPS495 is a different color then the Dynon GPS when I'm using both for navigation. Subtle but effective. Same with the EMS. I don't much care what the numbers are. As long as it's in the green. The solution I've seen with the small screen on the...

7" display font size, and battery backup

With the 10 inch display I don't have a lot of complaints. The text next to the HSI is a bit tiny but not important for flight. Same with DA, TAS, GS, etc. This is secondary information as compared to air speed and altitude. I expect that Dynon will tackle a fine tuning of the display some time...

    Multiple GPS

Of the six GPS units that I have owned, three are still working. You really don't need any GPS units for VFR. A map and compass works just fine. GPS is nice though.

    Fuel tank calibration problems

I did the calibration twice. The battery went dead the first time. The second time nothing was happening so after the first forty litres (ten at a time) I shook the plane to get the sensors to move and then waited for them to settle down. Seem to work except the first forty litres don't...

Two 7" screens or one 10" screen?

I only had room for one and decided to go with the 10". I use my GPS495 as my backup instrument. The GPS495 worked well while I was calibrating my compass. I haven't tried landing with it. I found that as good as it looks, I don't need a full screen PFD. For the most part I fly with a 50/50...
