    More skyview displays

The battery for each screen is independent of the other screens and electrical bus so that could be considered an independent electrical system. Your radios would be out of commission with an electrical failure although they have small backup batteries for that now. I fly VFR but if I was...

    Vertical Power Integration?

Good idea about the contact inputs. I can see that if the lights or electric flaps didn't work I would have some obvious feed back. But if the breaker went on the boost pump or pitot heat it wouldn't be so obvious. Adding a few contact inputs will keep me busy while I'll waiting for VP-X...

    Glideslope

Dynon - Nice update to the size of the lettering on the HSI. For jack - I get the same glide slope information from the GPS495 if you turn on and setup the VNAV feature.

    Vertical Power Integration?

I'm in the middle on my winter upgrades and was struggling with panel lighting. Most everything has built in lighting. iCOM radio - check. GTX 327 - check. GPS495 - check. SV - check - nice dimming feature. Switches - Aveo lighted switches - check. The only things that aren't lit up are the...

    Vertical Power Integration?

Ahhh - a threat. >:( Good one. That will get them moving. On a more inauspicious query. Any further predictions when this will happen?

    More skyview displays

IMHO a redundant http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/redundancy system would have to be a bit more than two screens connected to the same system. I've seen more then a few stacked ADAHRS connected to the same pitot and static. You could have a dozen ADAHRS and they will all fail if the single...

    Losing confidence in Dynon

If I had to send my system back for repairs for extended periods during flying season (July-August here) I would probably just rig my ASI/Altimeter and oil temp/pressure gauges in the empty panel hole and fly it like I did before SV. ;) On a more serious note, all my problems turned out to be...

Transfer flight plans from Jeppesen FliteStar

There is nothing wrong with USB for data transfer. Bluetooth is great at getting rid of cables but it's transfer rate is 2.1 Mbit/s compared with 480 Mbit/s for USB. I can't imagine transferring the terrain database over Bluetooth. Windows? Don't go there.

    Ray Allen POS 12

The green is flap position. The other two are +5V and GND. I don't believe it matters. Switch them if you get the wrong direction. I connected the green wire to a general purpose input on the Skyview. It had to be calibrated. The FlightDEK 180 is probably similar. Actually I used Aircraft...

    GPS data out to GTX-327

The GTX327 will switch modes if it receives ground speed from a GPS device or the squat switch state changes. The Skyview doesn't output any GPS information according to the current manual. The GPS-250 is a position device only so I suspect it's only outputing NMEA position data and not speed or...

Adding secondary screen option for tandem aircraft

Re: Adding secondary screen option for tandem airc For JunglePilot - I think that Dynon has made it possible to add any number up to four SV screens to any aircraft. I noticed quite a number of dual screen systems (a preferred option) in side by side configurations. If you value your back seat...

    Future Feature List

I think Dynon explained it well. A round gauge with a needle is a quick way to see the relative position on the gauge. For instance if your ASI is at nine o'clock on approach rather than 3 o'clock you know you're in trouble. In the same instance having a colour coded flat bar (or round gauge)...

Map Features - Your Input Requested

SV doesn't pass frequency info, but the GPS396 and up do. Just select a frequency on the GPS and press enter and it appears in the standby frequecy of the SL30/40. Frequecies are passed from the X96 to the iCOM 210 also but by a slightly different method. One wire from GPSX96 TX -> SL30/40/iCOM...

    Analog page

Interesting comments that the present style of ribbon gauges are difficult to comprehend. I suppose automobile gauges went the complete cycle from round analog, to flat ribbon analog, to digital number and now the majority of vehicles have round analog speedometers - electronically driven of...

    UK/European maps

I don't agree that the terrain data is useless if it's not exact. Keep in mind that the accuracy is 300 feet. If I have to fly that close to terrain I would be using VFR.

    UK/European maps

Go figure eh!. I hope you have floats. It'll be interesting to see if the runway is placed over the water when the NAV data is available. The same is true for some of the NA data. In the following youtube video (starting at 1:04) you can see that the river doesn't match the SV screen...

Alternator "IN OP" wiring to skyview.

You could use one of the general purpose pins as a contact. Check page 6-38 and 6-46 in the installation guide. There also are a few posts about contacts on the Skyview general discussion. That may be redundant as you'll get a flashing red (yellow) warning on the amps gauge on the SV if the...

    Analog page

I can appreciate packing in all the features possible, but this one is retrograde. I would rather see Dynon spend the effort on advanced features not available with standard gas gauges.
