File with Fuel Level Calibration Numbers?

Sigh. I've checked the "Sensor Config" and "User Config" output files to find the table of "voltage vs. fuel quantity" numbers, for a capacitive sender but no joy. Where the heck is that information stored? I can edit the table on screen, but on screen doesn't allow for inserting an extra data...

    Fuel tank calibration

Well, all I can say is that the capacitance fuel level senders (from Princeton and now Red Avionics) have been calibrated and read within 0.5 gallons of the actual amount in the tank at ALL levels, in BOTH tanks. So, while TC'd aircraft might have really crappy fuel level senders (and I've never...

    Green Arrow

If you hit the "Direct To" button, the NAV will take you to the approach end of the runway it's pointing at, with the parameters you set in setup (altitude, distance, etc.).

    SA Chart Data

Sectionals. Nothing else (for VFR). Definitely not "required", although nice. If you've got FF on an iPad, you've already got sectionals, so...

How to create a gear warning in D-180?

Look at the D180 (or EMS-D120, or EMS-D10) Installation guide. There are a couple of "contact" inputs that you can use to create on-screen indications. HOWEVER, you won't be able to have them sense IAS. But you CAN hook up microswitches in series so that the circuit will only "ground" the...

    New Garmin GNC 215

I don't know squat about the 215, but I have a dual HDX system with a GPS-175. The 175 talks to the HDX through ARINC lines to the ARINC 429 box and one serial OUT line (also to the ARINC 429 box - NOT directly to the HDX). The 175 also has one serial line to talk to my G5 and another to talk...

Huh. I have a subscription and received no email... Thanks for posting this.

    Seattle Avionics 1/24/2024 Update

Is anyone having issues downloading the Seattle Chart Manager update for the next cycle that starts tomorrow? I get updated VFR sectionals and IFR low altitude charts dated 3/20/2024, but the "Airport Diagrams" and "Approach Plates and Airport Diagrams" stay at the 1/24/2024 date - they won't...

Update Version 16 and (PDA360EX-R ) Remote Audio Panel

Why? PS Engineering doesn't sell it anymore, and in fact, don't even sell the 360EX (which I have in my plane) anymore. Seems like a waste of effort to support something that's not on the market... No one with a Skyview system will have one (since they wouldn't have worked) and they can't get...

AP disconnect / CWS buttons for pilot and copilot

This: Is basically what I did, but with a parallel switch for the Co-Pilot grounding of the Disengage/Disconnect. I also ran each servo through a separate 3A fuse, rather than ganging them together, and put a DPST switch in line to turn off power to each servo for takeoff and landing.

AP disconnect / CWS buttons for pilot and copilot

Connect both buttons to both servos. That way, either seat can turn off the AP. If you only want to turn off one axis for some reason, you can use the AP Panel.

    Skyview Wish List

So, what's the outside reference for the pitch attitude? Ground? Flight Path (which would be AOA, so probably not)? And what's the aircraft reference - the "zero" incidence line of the EFIS? IOW, what are the two lines that are used to measure the pitch angle? Certainly sounds like the...

    Skyview Wish List

Because "pitch mode" (by which I THINK you mean pitch angle/AOA) is equal to IAS mode. No? AOA sets Cl, and Cl sets IAS for a given air density, so, IAS=pitch. "Roll" mode just means keep the wings level - there's no real equivalent in pitch, unless you're referring to "Alt Hold" (which...

    Skyview Wish List

Yes - there is only one sensor wire TO the Dynon EMS. But there's a + and - wire to the other two wires of the sensor - otherwise, it wouldn't get a voltage input to the EMS. So if you swap the + and - wires, the polarity will change. But I still think that this can be done purely in calibration...

    Skyview Wish List

Maybe I'm missing something, but assuming that you're using Ray Allen potentiometers (position sensors) for the input, either re-calibrate in the EMS hardware calibration menu, or just swap the + and - wires into the sensor - then the voltage readings will be reversed (you might ned to...

    firmware 16.6.0 thank you Dynon

And yet the first line of Rev. AO in the Revision Block states (as does the one for Rev. AN) that it's for version 16.5, not 16.6. Sigh. Makes me wonder about whether anyone's proofreading these things. The same error is in the published Rev. AO.

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

They're not "wrong". They're just measuring something different than GPS altitude, which is what matters in this case. Now, along with the relatively extreme baro setting, maybe there was a GPS anomaly in that area - the DD could have been screwing with something, or who knows what. That could...

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

You both realize, of course, that the altitude displayed in the first pic is the barometric altitude and that the terrain warning is based on GPS altitude, right? Because that's what's in the terrain database? And that with a barometer setting of an extremely high 30.45 in-Hg, it's not...

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

Well, with all due respect, I fly in the mountains all the time too, and there is exactly zero way for you to say categorically that the mountain off to your left is "clearly still above you". In mountainous terrain, there is no "horizon", so you don't know what's at your level, what's above...
