Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

Correct. Yes, years ago I set them to 400 and 800. I'll have to go back and look to be absolutely sure they're still set that way but user_config.dfg exported a few weeks ago contains this: Tough to know, since expected behavior isn't a cause for hitting the record button. As you pointed...

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

I was starting to regret posting a pic at all, but the discussion did lead me to think deeper. I then realized I do have the Dynon GPS data. It's in the EFIS data logs that I download and keep forever. Using Zulu time from the EFIS image (21:17:42) I searched the log. It recorded 7740 GPS...

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

Indeed I have flown up next to that mountain (Sloan Peak) many times, and a dozen other peaks in the vicinity. It's kind of my back yard. As I said, this scenario played out repeatedly over the weekend. Sorry the photo angle above is a compromise of trying to capture everything I could at...

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

A few weeks ago. That's perhaps more recent than my previous validation pass. New data comes out in a few days. Will be interesting to see. Also, I think I want to enable the GPS Altitude display next time, so I can compare it to the rest.

Help: terrain warning altitude suddenly way off

Periodically I compare my terrain warning altitudes/colors against reality. I don't use it for nav, but it's comforting to know that it's there, since I fly in the mountains a lot. Terrain warning altitudes have been fairly accurate for years, but last weekend it was dangerously far off, and I...

Uploading new flight plan while AP actively flying a plan?

I finally tried it out. Once the AP was tracking the uploaded plan, I inserted a dogleg in the current leg via foreflight and re-uploaded. HDX immediate voiced "flight plan updated" and rolled to close the gap on the new course. I tried it a couple times, with increasing XTRK errors up to 2...

Dynon indicates bus voltage when master switch turned off.....

This bugs me too. I've often wondered if this represents useful voltage/current, or if it's just leakage that a 100kOhm pull-down would resolve.

Uploading new flight plan while AP actively flying a plan?

Chair flying, cuz the weather sucks... What happens if the AP is in active mode "GPS+ALT", nothing is armed, and I upload a new flight plan from ForeFlight?

    Servo sudden loss of torque.

"Contact Dynon Technical Support", Yup, I figured that's where I'd end up. This isn't a new-install kind of issue. All the calibration, testing, and tuning was done a couple years ago.

    Servo sudden loss of torque.

Sudden loss of torque on a servo that has seen light use over 300 airframe hours. I was straight and level in smooth air. Then the "heavy" wing began to droop, and the HDX showed "roll slip". I could feel on the stick there was no servo torque at all. If I disengage and re-engage there's a...

traffic does not show on display

I understand that alternate ADSB-IN devices can feed an iPad, but is there any way to feed the HDX with traffic/weather other than the 472?

Oil Pressure -3 PSI before start up - Rotax 912iS

Curious to hear your results. My 912ULS oil pressure shows +3 PSI when not running, whether hot or cold or sitting for weeks.

    Airspeed and Altitude Covers Display

I'll go one step further. The whole use of tapes on PFDs bothers me. I've never had a steam gauge in the cockpit, and I'm a 30-year techno-geek web/ui/software developer, so you'd think I'd be right at home with the PFD tapes. However, I still find them unintuitive. Over time my eyes/brain...

traffic does not show on display

I came here looking for reasons why all traffic on my HDX (fed by a 472) repeatedly disappeared & reappeared the other day. In a busy space, traffic status was flipping back and forth between "ADSB-OK" and "TIS-OK", about every 2 minutes. Not a great time to have ADSB flake out. TIS shows...

Roll servo- dead or something else?

The shear screw is supposed to be the weakest link in the system. That's it only job. Aircraft mass is irrelevant. Roll input force is what matters, and still that shear pin should give way first. How many hours in service? Did Dynon have any insight to add?

Upgraded feature request - glide ring

This is huge. All the data is there already, and--as shown above--even EFBs are doing this. Where I live I have to constantly question whether the ring is predicting a realistic story, a falsely dismal end, or a fantasy.

Dynon Skyview Airspeed Stream from WiFi

I don't know if this effort is still alive, but v16 has been available for several months now. I'm interested in reading about any DIY efforts concerning the data stream.

One time only, after pressing <level>, 1 of 2 servos did not engage.

While waiting for the engine to warm up I often press <level> to check that servos engage, and that I can override (slip) them. Recently the pitch servo engaged, but the roll servo did not. After 10 or 15 seconds trying to prove I wasn't losing my mind, I pressed <disengage>, followed again by...
