    WiFi capabilities

Hi I wasn’t aware of the Slingshot feature but it appears it still only copies to the USB stick. Aviation databases and charts can also be downloaded over Wi-Fi from some third-party apps – such as Seattle Avionics FlyQ – directly to a USB drive inserted in SkyView display. This eliminates the...

    Vertical guidance

Page 7-34 of the classic pilots guide. VS REQ'D OPTIONS:” Use these settings to configure the Vertical Speed Required to Destination Info block on the map. Select the distance from and the distance above the final waypoint (i.e., destination airport/runway) in the Flight Plan and SkyView will...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

Jake my last CHT probe experience was an erratic CHT reading. I have replaced 3 probes in the past. I transferred the probe to another cylinder and the problem transferred. I then swapped to the OLC connector based on other’s recommendation and the problem was resolved. In the last 40 hours...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

My thoughts were that it was not the actual spade connector itself but the crimp on to the sensor wire that was causing the issue. I don’t know if the types of wire and crimp involved could be causing the issue but it seems strange that with all the spade connectors used in the automotive...

    EGT/CHT terminal part numbers?

+1 from me for the olc connectors. I was having constant problems with CHT readings. I bought new probes but the problems continued. I replaced the spade connectors with the olc connectors and no problems since.

    Exit and backspace HDX

It’s not too bad a process particularly if you are still covered by the warrant. I am in NZ and have been involved in the return / repair of three units.

Plate info on primary and secondary displays

No I am not referring to the Dynon supplied databases although I am not sure if the databases I refer to below are now supplied to US customers by Dynon. The databases you buy from an external provider ,in my case AvPlan, are in two parts. There are the regularly updated navigation and obstacle...

Plate info on primary and secondary displays

The synchronising database message only refers to the internally stored databases NAV and OBS and they are synchronised via the Ethernet cable so the other USB stick does not come into this process.

Plate info on primary and secondary displays

Do you have a USB with the plates in each screen. I don’t think the plates get shared between screens and you need a USB in each screen.

    Version 16.7 software released

Hi did you have everything turned on when you did the update. If the autopilot was turned off when you did the update the latest version of the software would not be loaded into the servos and they will not be recognised by the new software version. I am not sure how you would go about...

    VNAV altitude

To answer the second part of your question. I have tried out the VNAV descent this morning to confirm it works as I thought. If you are at say 2500ft and your airfield is at 20ft amsl. With the AP engaged in VNAV and NAV the aircraft will remain at 2500ft tracking to the airfield. I have set my...

    VNAV altitude

Your assumptions are correct that is exactly how it works. QNH should be used and my understanding, however I am not 100% sure how it is used these days, is that QFE should only be used in or around the circuit. I am sure there is someone here on the forum from UK who can confirm this for you...

    VNAV altitude

It is relative to whichever you have set. I understand it will just use what is displayed on the display. Remember the UK is pretty much the only country that I know of that uses QFE so system is probably not designed to differentiate between QFE and QNH. When you carry out a VNAV approach it...

    A/P initial setup

Just been through the same process. The system does not know it has an autopilot until you calibrate the servos. All good after that.

"caution message" : knob panel off line

Having the same issue here. It seems to be an issue that crops up from time to time but I have noticed that after the latest update it happens every second flight.

    firmware 16.6.0 thank you Dynon

The latest version of the installation manual suggests that when you enter the calibration you get a screen that allows you to set up a number of flap settings. Revision AO page 5-20. If it does not come up Dynon may have an idea why.
