    Redundancy

Blocked static ports are EXTREMELY rare. The chances of copping a bug up your pitot is far more likely….and also very rare. I have had it happen. The GPS assist worked. But it was not a "crash worthy defect". Most RV's and glass airs etc run two flush mounted ports, they MUST be connected...

    XPDR timeout

Bob, that is a very good point….the unintended consequence. Myself I find it fine how it is. :)

    XPDR timeout

I learned a lot from a very experienced aviator…….he said never key the mic without a pen in your other hand. Now you could say that the keypad is the pen, but perhaps with your iPad and a scratchpad like in AvPlan, or heck even a pen. Like we were taught. I have had it time out but I reckon...

Dynon SkyView Autopilot Expert tracks left

What lane? What settings? Is the servo linkage on the inner most hole (without going over centre) and is the torque at 100%? If you fiddle with just some of the variables you can get gains all screwed up. Our experience is it tracks remarkably well with a Garmin ARINC input. :)

    Navigation Page on Skyview

I have the times all displayed and grouped, Time to waypoint time to destination, distances…… I guess on a flight plan you could have a ETA at each waypoint, and a fuel estimate at each waypoint as well. Starts to be like the FMC on a "big balus" ;)

    Another SV screen issue

Someone called? Yes for all the world what looked like an alternator problem could well have been the CB opening up without popping the external part of the breaker. This was happening when the alternator was at 100-110% load. I would never have believed it. I still almost don't :o

SkyView Battery Charging before first flight.

Vern, Sure there are many opinions here, but the facts in this case are a First Flight, an obvious parameter which was not checked off on the ground as a system check, before any flight, otherwise the VPX bug would have been found, and I quote; How is this? In Phase one the radius or test area...

    External GPS data

I am not sure I would agree with all of that. The SV will indeed follow an external GPS very nicely indeed. The GPSS output from the GTN series GPS is very accurately flown. You should use it to fly a GPS RNAV approach, it rounds the corners beautifully. As for displaying the external flight...

SkyView Battery Charging before first flight.

This is not a Dynon problem. A first flight DOES NOT need a wingman. A first flight SHOULD not go out of sight of the runway and should be (besides oil pressure and general fuel flow and CHT limits) ignoring most things other than IAS and altitude. As soon as any number of alarms go off...

SkyView D1000 percentage power and leaning

Perhaps you were being out of line, but let me try to explain. I did answer as best as i thought was necessary, but let me have another go. The engine dyno graphs were not to show anything in particular, they could have been fictitious (they are not) but more so to show what kind of data you...

SkyView D1000 percentage power and leaning

Ahhhhh I would not be so sure. What do I agree about that has no useful information in which graphs? There is a heap pf really good data that comes off them if you know how to use them. I really do not get your point. ::)

    Pitot Freezing

From memory the GPS assist kicks in with more than just zero IAS. I have had a bug….yes a bug jammed in the tube and we had some airspeed, maybe 45 knots from memory….GPS assist came up straight away. The full understanding of the feature would be nice to know.

    Skyview current draw

A visit to your optometrist perhaps? :o Actually a slight, and only slight increase in font would be good. But if you can't easily see it, perhaps it is not the D700 with the problem. You may need a visit to the eye specialist.

    EGT/CHT combined widget

That recent story is Jonathan Fullers preignition event and yes it was caught well. You are correct that EGT does not spike with a preinition event, in fact it falls slightly. I have plenty of data files on them  ;) So just because preignition faults do not show much in egt changes you want to...

SkyView D1000 percentage power and leaning

From 12 years ago? No, probably just cooling airflow on that dyno run, who knows what nasty things were being down to it.

    EGT/CHT combined widget

I strongly diasgree, A failing plug or a partial blockage of an injector show up by either fluctuating EGT values or one stepping out of the pack. If Dynon were going to invest time doing anything on the EGT bars it would be to provide a normalise mode.

Version 11.1 Trim nose up (or down) too sensitive

What the trim flag shows is a content need to retrim when you disconnect the autopilot the plane is in perfect trim. On many occasions the trim flag keeps flagging and if you follow the instruction you get very out of trim. And that is fun when you disconnect. :D Knd, Make sure you get the...

Version 11.1 Trim nose up (or down) too sensitive

I understand the trim change when leaning forward and back, but that might just be part of the puzzle with the new trim sensing. Leaning forward and back in any plane should not mean a retrim, the A/P should cope with that. Unless it is severely under sized servo or the torque setting is too...

SkyView D1000 percentage power and leaning

The couple of hundred hours on your O2 sensor, was this using Avgas or UL mogas? If you have an O2 sensor that does not mind the use of leaded fuels please let me know, I know a few folk who will be keen to see it. It is true peak EGT is only representing one mixture, but from that point...

Version 11.1 Trim nose up (or down) too sensitive

Dynon Support - who specifically wrote this reply above. Can you go to see Lawrence Doan, he knows all about this bug with the trim flagging. I have it in rather annoying doses, and if I follow the flag and trim as it wants, it asks for more, then more and eventually you are a long way out of...
