    IFR Panel Backup Strategies

This has been discussed before on here. Some points about dual screens and dual ADHARS. The dual screens get the information from the same ADHARS so the readings will be the same. It not true redundancy where one screen uses one ADHARS and the other uses the other. The D6 is a good idea, however...

    EMS Manifold Pressure Mod.

I don't think the size much matters - so I'm told. Some of the posts here talk about putting in a pin hole to steady the fluctuations. I used 1/4" outside diameter copper tubing to get past the engine and 1/4" inside diameter plastic from there without any problems. The copper pipe comes right...

    Ground Track GPS pointer

GPS ground track I believe. It's the track (direction) you are making on the ground. If you were heading north at 100 knots with a 100 knot west wind you would be tracking 45 degrees on the ground. The compass rose would show a heading of north, but the GPS ground track (magenta triangle) would...

    Calibrating Fuel levels.

On the Skyview I just used a reasonable amount. For your tanks I would use 2 gallons at a time. Easy to measure and you will get ten calibration points. There are several discussions on this forum about fuel calibration.

No. Just the previous user waypoints created by the Skyview User Waypoints Utility.

    Garmin's GPS data file

I believe GPS devices (including SV-GPS-250) work world wide. You may have trouble receiving enough satellites if you are near the north or south pole but the rest of the world is covered. If you have a database with waypoints it can probably be converted to Dynon with the...

    MAP software

Because of my age and waning eyesight I have trouble with the text without reading glasses even on the 10" SV. I have two fixes. I found some bifocal sunglasses  8-). Second I use the bugs to identify the target. They are easy to see. Finally I didn't pay attention to the numbers on my old...

    Aircraft Exhaust Inc.

Just a note for anyone that is thinking of building a 4in1 tuned exhaust for their a/c. I had my 4in1 exhaust mockup returned from Aircraft Exhaust Inc.  :-/ The phone has been of the hook for a while. I think they are out of business. Mark Cook from KitPlanes built a 4in1 tuned exhaust for his...

    Compass calibration

I had trouble with my compass calibration. Same symptoms - only two directions in the calibration screen. I used another compass to try and find a magnetic source near the ADAHRS without a lot of luck. It turns out that the bolts that I used were metal. The guy I had helping built the mount...

Skyview 3.0 & Jeppesen data for Canada as example

Re: Skyview 3.0 & Jeppesen data for Canada as exam Zoom levels have changed and you need the low resolution data for the new zoom levels but the standard terrain data for North America works fine in the Canadian Rockies. Check out this youtube video at about the one minute mark...

    EMS Sensor Alarms

I didn't notice while I had it flying and won't have my panel back in the a/c for a month but do the sensor alarms come on before engine start. For instance, if the oil pressure has a self clearing alarm, is it on at Skyview startup and will it turn on the EMS warning light until the oil...

Skyview 3.0 & Jeppesen data for Canada as example

Re: Skyview 3.0 & Jeppesen data for Canada as exam I was just thumbing through the CFS and wondering why it wasn't available in digital format. It would be nice to find an affordable version of the Canadian data that Dynon could convert. Reseller may be the $obstacle that Dynon mentioned. It...

    3 axis

I agree. I'm told a Tiger Moth takes a lot of coaxing with the rudder to convince it to turn but there is not a lot of adverse yaw in modern designs. I know I'm getting spoilt with my Glasair.

skyview wont recognise auto pilot servos

First thing to check is if the servo's have the Skyview ready sticker. I ordered a couple from Aircraft Spruce. One had the Skyview Ready stricker s/n 46## and the other didn't, s/n 1800. I was a little ticked at Aircraft Spruce for sending the old stock which cost me $$ to send it to Dynon for...

Skyview 3.0 & Jeppesen data for Canada as example

Re: Skyview 3.0 & Jeppesen data for Canada as exam The USA FAA data already has several radio NAV positions plus obstacles in Canada. What will be interesting to see is if both the FAA and the Jeppesen data can be loaded at the same time, what happens to duplicate information. :-? Keep us...
