    Intermittent SV-GPS 2020

Btw - sorry if I've offended you in any way, my comment was a generic one. We're all here to help each other, that's why your input is needed ;).

    Intermittent SV-GPS 2020

There was recent discussion on this, a simple search would have found more info for you. The greatest pain, IMO, is some people ask for a resolution of their issues however don’t give feedback which could or would be of tremendous help to others.

    Transponder interfering with AP

Was having problems 'posting' - trying again. I'd suggest moving the Transponder antenna, it's too close IMO, to another location & use RG400 Coax cable if not using it already. All bets are off if using the old RG58. A ground plane of ~6" square will work. PM me if you wish. Ps -trying to...

    Transponder interfering with AP

"Turning the transponder on gets the pitch offline message within seconds". - that's a major clue IMO. Maybe some other basic info would help ? Airfame type ie Aluminum , fabric or composite ? Txpndr antenna - above or below the servo ? a picture of that area may be real useful here.

    Intermittent Transponder Mode C

I figured you would have the RG400 - my point was to say that there can be other less obvious reasons why we have problems with avionics/ electrics. Mechanical problems usually can easily be seen & then fixed - electronics are a different animal, you can’t see where those pesky electron...

    Intermittent Transponder Mode C

Charly - here are a couple of ‘out there’ situations I’ve seen with Transponders. I’m not a ‘licensed‘ tech however i find that helps as I wasn’t trained to think in one direction😅 ;). 1st - composite aircraft, Txpdr would drop out sometimes & the range was reduced ( on a route that the...

    Intermittent Transponder Mode C

I take it that you have checked the Txpdr & serial port settings & the pins & sockets? Did the gentle pull test for those too to confirm they are properly seated/ locked in place ? “ lost radar contact completely” is what prompted my input. ;)

    ADAHRS issues again!

Can you post a picture of the mounting area of the dual ADAHRS units ? - that may be useful. PM me if you wish;)

Audio cable from Dynon to audio panel

I would like to add that just because the shield is not shown it is still the norm for all audio wiring to be shielded & as Rhino says the shield should be grounded at the Intercom/Audio panel end only, that is the generic way to do audio wiring. (as an aside - look at the Apollo manuals. they...

    GPS Problems on Dynon D1000

Hi Vincent - I should also add I don't use the dsub backshells in that situation as they would add too much weight to the antenna cable & be too bulky as well. Your feedback will be appreciated by those who may have similar issues ;)

    GPS Problems on Dynon D1000

I have seen a similar situation caused by too much handling / flexing of the cable at the base of the antenna, the particular aircraft had the dual Dynon system installed by others & had 2 x 250’s so swapping them over proved where the problem was. My solution since then, as a result of that...

    Changing N number

We pay taxes too however we have to pay extra for databases etc - free weather in will probably not happen in my lifetime :D.

D1000 to GMA 340 volume deafening.

FWIW, I never put the potentiometers for that purpose on the panel - I remotely mount them behind the panel as once I have them ‘set’ they don’t need to be changed ;) ps - you can still ‘tweak’ them later if need be.

    Changing N number

Thanks Tim - that's the difference I guess, it's automatic with FAA registered aircraft only - 'we' have to enter the Hex codes here. You guys have got it easy - free weather & mapping etc 🙂.

    AoA Calibration

I updated post # 6 to make it clearer :).

    Changing N number

Not sure how it's done there - our Aviation regulator (CASA) issues the Hex code with our aircraft rego (N-Number in your case) which is specific to that rego, never generated by Dynon. I just did a 'search' & found this - "How do I find my aircraft hex code? In the US, this is easily found...

    Changing N number

Yep, change your N number in the Dynon & the Transponder Hex code that goes with the new N number ;)

    AoA Calibration

FYI - always was part of the Dynon system & with the ‘legacy’ units too.;)

Just a data point here -that doesn't always work.
