    Zaon TAWS icon failure

DS - BGK had his Zaon displaying just fine before I did a major upgrade to his wiring including adding the VP-X system. His serial port input is working with the numbers incrementing as expected but no traffic shown - the only thing I know that has changed is that he upgraded the database...

    ADHRS location

Don I'm a Glasair owner/builder - I'd mount the ADAHRS on LHS of aft fuselage ie away from gear pump & it's solenoids etc, also try & get them as far away as possible from the trim springs & trim motor - a third of the way up the fuselage side may be a good spot  ;) HTH Jake J

    New SkyView COM Radio

Incorrect - you can use them however there is no requirement for 8.33 spacing. Just wondering who you are & where you get this erroneous & misleading info ? :-? Please understand, I'm not wanting to 'flame' you but you need to get the facts right ;) Jake J

    New SkyView COM Radio

not quite correct, sorry - it's our communications authority who approve radios of all types here, just like in the USA.  A TSO'd radio is required for IFR, that's CASA's regulation  ;) Jake J

Full ADS-B with Garmin XPNDR and GPS?

Carl You can (& should IMO) keep the ADS-B in Dynon unit however this link is one other way to go for ADS-B OUT http://www.eaa.org/news/2012/2012-07-16_garmin.asp considering what equipment you have already ;) HTH Jake J

Video on using the Skyview with AutoPilot

IMO the best video is by actually using the SV system in the plane on the ground & by reading the manual, that way you get to understand the functions (knobology) & know the menus without the pressure of situational awareness while flying ;) just my .02 cents worth :) Jake J

    VP-X Channel Fault ?

704ch You need to connect your laptop to the Vp-X to see the specific fault. Hope it is simple however, FWIW, I've never seen a fault with the VP units - a report back would be helpful ;) Jake J

Excessive static in intercom when PTT used.

Dave There can be so many variables here but here goes --does this happen when engine is not running ? if yes then turn everthing off except radio & intercom then try again. If yes to static then it's possible that there are some wiring issues, if no then turn on each electrical/avionics (those...

Best place to install the Skyview Amp Shunt

If you want the Alt output I'd use B & if you have the VP-X then it will show the same result as C as well. HTH Jake J

Lost NAVSRC worse after upgrade to 5.4

Bo The dropout issue is more complex IMO - many were/are having issues with the 296 too. As for mobile (cell) phones & iPads, I have seen these cause problems too with autopilots, audio & marker beacon receiver. David (2 ic SAAA) can confirm these types of problems as well. ;)

    Pitch servo not seen

Steve No reflection on you at all, so please don't take offence :) however surely you've seen other posts about pins not inserted fully ? I've had that happen too - there are some dsub connectors that require use of insert tool & others don't, just saying...... I've found (rarely) some...
