I do environmental s testing for avionics. It is somewhat strange that the high storage temp (+60c) would be lower than the high operating temp (+70c). If fact really strange. Perhaps even an error in the spec. Low operating of -20c sounds right for displays, but not typically for electronics

Afraid not. The outputs from the KX 125 are analog and Dynon has no analog interface for nav data.

What GalinHDZ said. This is an radio frequency interference problem. Shield and signal grounds can also create this problem. From a wire routing standpoint, make sure the CHT and EGT wires are separated from the com antenna cables by as much distance as possible, preferably 3” or more.

I do not believe that you can adjust the OBS when navigating via GPS. Under GPS navigation, the OBS is irrelevant unless using the function that simulates a VOR. Some here could explain that functionality better.

Your initial suggestion to Dynon on the AP interface, probably has merit. Your price comparison to an EDM path is totally apples to oranges. I tried to offer you a possible step solution, but you chose to focus on the argument. I think the desire to see you go elsewhere is a showing of pity...

I’ve done many hybrid installations in business jets, when the owner doesn’t want to pony up for the full nut. I know nothing about the Dynon STC but I can’t imagine they would require someone to install the full Monty. Maybe worth checking it out. You definitely need to keep the KI256, but...

Why not just do a single display, with ADAHRS, EMS and sensors for now? You can leave your current avionics installed, just replace the round gages with a display with EMS. Then you can add AP in the future, as well as other options. The only part I don’t know is if the Dynon STC would allow...

Magnetic. The system figures out true from there.

What airplane?

Typical for the RV6. The float is at the wing root and hits the top of the tank at about 14-15 gallons. The rest of the fuel is out the wing which is higher than the root. It’s a float location problem by the tank design, not Dynon.

Wiring sounds right. My first guess is that the pin designations or widget isn’t set up properly. To check the wiring, you can measure millivolts on the 2 wires with a volt meter. I believe 1 mv=1 Amp

Since the new forum has been up, it seems as Dynon isn’t monitoring it as closely as they did in earlier years. Best to call customer support. Maybe they will get the idea that a presence on the forum is more cost effective than answering individual phone calls.

One other point. If your Dynon transponder is used for ADS-B out, it should be left in ALT for all operations, including on the ground. The system will determine the air/ ground state and transmit it appropriately.

The KX155 doesn’t have either ARINC 429 or serial port, only analog outputs to drive the OBS and CDI. I’m curious how it could have worked since Skyview doesn’t have an analog inputs for Nav.
