Erroneous Compass Readings With Heated Pitot/AOA

I don't know if it helped but I used a drill to twist all the wires to the Dynon heated pitot to help cancel the magnetic field. Then again, my ADAHRS are in the tail, far away from any electrical noise.

    Skyview 7° not boot

Sounds like a good time to call or email Dynon support for more assistance.

    Two Transponder installation Possibility

You can have two transponders but the Trig units have proven to be very reliable. I agree that the SL-70 is extra weight and could be turned into Avgas on the open market.

    ADSB 472

Flew yesterday for the first time with the 472. Traffic and weather were showing on Foreflight but traffic was not consistently displayed on either. Some planes were nearby at less than 5000' difference and would show sporadically. It was nice to finally see everything in Foreflight but hoping...

SV-ADSB-470/472 IN with non Dynon ADSB OUT

The SV-XPNDR-262 + SV-GPS-2020 is not an option for 2020 compliance. Not enough wattage. Looks like uAvionics will be your choice. Some are happy with it, some not. You might even find one used for less.

    Plate/Map fast switching

A look at the pilot guide suggests (I could be misinterpreting) that you might be able to do this using the zoom level options. For instance, I have mine set to automatically go to Track Up at a certain zoom level. You might be able to change the layers doing the same.

    Remote Flip-Flop of Frequency

Yes, it is possible. You'll need a momentary ON button, wired to ground and to the SV-COM-425, Pin 7. See the install manual, pages 16-7 and 16-9, rev AD.

    New FAA ADS-B policy

LOL. Dude. Okay, it's not just an antenna. It is a receiver. Go ahead an file and IFR flight plan with it as your approved navigation device and go fly in the clouds. ;D

    transponder overpowers comm radio

Coax wire shielding is grounded at both ends to keep EMI from affecting other components. I'd suggest you confirm you have good shield grounding at both ends of the transponder. You can also increase the squelch on the radio (within SV setup) but, based on your symptoms, that probably won't help.

Skyview & Garmin 430W nav problem.

You might try swapping your NAV and GS inputs on the 430 and see if the problem moves.

    Troubleshooting no sectional layer

Have you tried swapping drives from one display to the other?

    Troubleshooting no sectional layer

Sectionals are displayed from a thumb drive plugged into the SV screen. I would suspect the drive is the problem but you could also try a port on the back of the screen to see if that works better.

    Rv7trasponder antenna location

My xpndr and ADS-B in antenna are installed about 8" fwd of the spar on each side. This is a -7A, so they are just under the MLG weldment, which protects them and their coax. I think most tail draggers install them per dlloyd's recommendation. A friend installed his in the aft fuselage and they...

HDX AP Expert Mode-where is the LEVEL MENU BUTTON?

I believe expert mode is intended for use with the external button panel option, which has the level button. Adding a button to your panel would not be difficult, IMO, but do consider the AP Button panel; it is a great option - including auto-trim.

    SKYVIEW-GTN-650 Guigance

It is just an antenna. It cannot be used for IFR navigation, which is what the OP was questioning.

    SKYVIEW-GTN-650 Guigance

    1. There is no need to install both 429 adapters. 2. Not sure as the 650 was recently updated with additional functionality. The SV autopilot will follow commands from the 650. 3. The GPS-2020 antenna is just that - an antenna. The 650 is a certified navigator that includes software and...

    Grounding to minimise humming

All audio grounds and shielding is typically grounded to the same point. For instance, in my RV-7A, I used a grounding strip for all audio related grounds that is then grounded to the forest of tabs at the firewall where the battery is grounded. I could, optionally, add a ground from the...

    Map view inside HSI

Just to clarify, I fly with PFD / MAP but want to fly with PFD full screen or 80/20 with the EMS in the 20. You have to have the PFD view to see airspeed, altitude and a number of other items that are only in that view. With dual screens, I sometimes run EMS / MAP on the right screen and full...
