Backup battery test impossible after the first yea

Is your alternator voltage approximately 13.8v? I have found that if significantly below that the battery will still charge but at a much slower rate. 8-)

New Dual Band ADS-B for SkyView / AF-5000 Systems

YAAAAAYYYY!!! When can we expect mounting dimensions so those of us that have an SV-ADSB-470 can make a mounting bracket adaptor or will you have one available for purchase? ;)

How to dim ems warning led?

Depending on which light fixture you used it can be as simple as a piece of semi-opaque tape. FWIW, I used a LEGEND LIGHT fixture from ACS and replaced the bulb with an LED from SUPERBRIGHT LEDs. Initially it was too bright so I put a small piece of semi-opaque white tape (Glider Tape) I had in...

    Biennial Pitot/Static check procedure

I read there is a new Pitot/Static check procedure for SkyView that eliminates the need to power SkyView on and off as before. Where is the procedure located? I can't find it in the SkyView Install manual. :-?

    G430W Setup question

This makes sense, THANKS. I currently have your #1 example as my setting. Serial settings   SV-GPS-250: POS 1   Serial 4: GPS 2 ARINC Settings   INPUT 1: GPS 1 I know it is a bit overkill but since the capability is available I might as well connect it up. 8-)

    G430W Setup question

I have a Garmin 430W connected to my SkyView ARINC429 input as well as my Serial port #4 and I want it to be my GPS1 source. When I go to the SERIAL PORT SETUP it gives me two options for the G430W, GPS1 - ARINC-429 1 / INPUT 1 as well as GPS2 – SERIAL PORT #4. If I select GPS1 - ARINC-429 1 /...

    Airport runway Information

When you scroll the cursor to an airport on the SkyView map page, airport information pops up. It would be great to have runway directions and length also show on the pop up. If the airport has more than one runway, then show information for the longest runway with some kind of marker (asterisk)...

ICAO Flight Plan Coding For Skyview ADS-B

Irrelevant. It provides ATC with your aircraft equipment capabilities, not what you are doing with that capability. Kind of like I have a VOR receiver in the airplane but for whatever reason I can't use it on this flight. 8-)

    500 ft Warning

The 500ft warning is a new feature on Foreflight. You can read about it on their blog: "The 500’ AGL Alert triggers when you descend below 500’ AGL. To prevent the alert from repeating it is only shown if you have previously been above 1,000’ AGL."...

    500 ft Warning

Do you have a Garmin AERA? I have a Garmin AERA wired to the audio panel and it gives a 500ft warning. The voice is so similar to the SkyView voice it is almost impossible to tell where the warning came from. 8-)

    Dynon Transponder?

Helping a friend with his ICAO equipment list brought up a good question. Does the Trig TT22/Dynon Transponder have the enhanced surveillance capability when connected to the SkyView system and an ADS-B approved GPS position source? I know it has the extended squitter but can't find anything...

    ping Buddy

I am actually going to use the Ping Buddy to feed ADS-B data to my tablet and just eliminate the Dynon WIFI modules. This way at get direct 1090 traffic, even though it is only on my tablet. I fly a lot of international where they use 1090 and the DYNON 978UAT receiver is useless. 8-)

Powering SkyView with battery for bench testing

Hi Scott, good to see you are on this forum. I tell you, when things get odd it is sometimes best to go back to the KIS (Keep It Simple) principle and check for the obvious.  8-) PS; Now I know you are installing a SkyView system so I will need regular updates and lots of photos. :D

Powering SkyView with battery for bench testing

I had that happen to me and it was that I didn't make a good solid connection to the battery terminal.   ::)

ICAO Flight Plan Coding For Skyview ADS-B

With the GTN-650 properly connected to provide ADS-B position information to the SkyView SV-Xponder-261 you would file - S,Y,G/E,B1. If the GTN650 is NOT properly connected to provide ADS-B position information to the SV-Xponder-261 then you would file - S,Y,G/E Nav/Com equipment: GTN650 Nav...
