Can Someone Please Help Me Design A Contact Widget

Since the PFD page has the "MESSAGE" alert indicator that activates if some monitored item is out of parameter, if you don't display the EMS page it effectively becomes a "black" page. If correctly connected, an external indicator will activate as well as provide an audio alarm. This way the EMS...

    ADSB 472

Knowing that if the display needs rebooting in flight it will happen at the worst possible moment and I won't remember the sequence, I went one step further. Using a label maker with white on clear tape I printed REBOOT 1-2-5 and placed it just below the display buttons. Always instantly...

Can Someone Please Help Me Design A Contact Widget

This same method can be used to monitor many different things, some examples: P-Mag status: GREEN dots mean they are receiving external 12v power. If they turn RED, then they have lost the 12v external power. CO2 Detector (CO2 Guardian) Status: A BLACK dot means no CO2 alarm but if the CO2...

Can Someone Please Help Me Design A Contact Widget

FWIW; with your setup I would make these minor changes: RANGE: 1 ENABLE: YES NAME: DOOR COLOR: RED TOP: 5.0V BOTTOM: 2.1V RANGE: 2 ENABLE: YES NAME: DOOR COLOR: GREEN TOP: 2.0V BOTTOM: 0.0V This way if the door is open you get a RED dot and if the door is closed you get a GREEN dot. You are...

    ADSB

This antenna is a bit pricey but works extremely well on non-conductive (fabric, fiberglass) surfaces: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/avpages/antennasystems1.php?clickkey=22844 I use one for the transponder and another for the SV-ADSB receiver in my fiberglass airplane. 8-)

    VAL INS-429 Connection

Has anybody connected a Val INS-429 unit to the SkyView using a serial port? If so, what configuration did you use on the SkyView port and the VAL INS-429 unit? I want to set the VAL INS-429 output information to be displayed on the HSI as #2. 8-)

What certified GPS equipment is needed for IFR

An E-LSA can legally file and fly IFR if the Operation Limitations allow it. If the Operation Limitations don't allow it, then you can't. Same as for ANY experimental aircraft. 8-)

What certified GPS equipment is needed for IFR

Nothing has changed in IFR equipment requirements in years. Those discussions are as accurate today as they were back then. EXACTLY!!! 8-)

How Do I Certify That The Altimeter Indication???

Be VERY careful doing it this way. Get the blower too direct into the static port and you may damage something. Even if you do it this way you still have to actually fly the airplane to confirm the results. 8-)

How Do I Certify That The Altimeter Indication???

It doesn't matter since a static error will affect both altitude and airspeed so if your altitude is wrong, your airspeed is also wrong. Fix the airspeed and the altitude will be correct. This is just one way to find out if you have a problem and just one method to correct it...

How Do I Certify That The Altimeter Indication???

Do a three heading GPS test and calculate what your TAS should be. If not within 2kts from approach to high speed cruise then you need to do one of three things. 1 - Move your static port to a different location. 2 - If your TAS is showing low then place a small "wedge" in front of the static...

What Databases Do I Need... Advice PLEASE

To be LEGAL, you will need whatever database your certificated IFR navigation equipment requires. You can not legally use SkyView as your primary IFR navigation source, even with the Seattle Avionics charts/maps. FWIW: I use the Garmin US database for my G430W (this makes me IFR legal). The...

Backup battery test impossible after the first yea

At this point you do not know if your battery is bad or there is something wrong with your display (Bad connection, bad display charging circuit, etc.). By swapping the batteries from one display to the other you will help isolate if the problem is with the battery or not. 8-)

Backup battery test impossible after the first yea

Try swapping the batteries from one screen to the other. Connect the battery currently connected to screen #1 to screen #2 and connect the battery currently connected to screen #2 to Screen #1. After this, go fly for at least 1hr then do a battery test on both screens. This will tell you if...
