GNS 480/CNX 80 working with SV

I have a GNS 480 working with a Skyview in a Glasair. They integrate perfectly. I can answer questions if you like. The system has been flying for just under 2 years.

    Transfer settings across aircraft?

    Great to hear, thanks!

    Transfer settings across aircraft?

I am helping a friend install a dual Dynon Skyview system to replace a full steam gauge panel. Is there a way to use the backup I have of my aircraft on his such that all the widget positions and limits are imported? This would save a lot of work. I will then only have to modify the differences...

Which socket for OAT wire ?

Dynon Support will confirm but you can cut the wires and splice them. I would cut them no closer than 12" or so from the sockets, splice in enough wire to reach comfortably allowing for a small service loop then splice the piece to the remainder running to the probe. The wire (unlike the CHT and...

Export flight plans received over ARINC

I really like the ability to display the flight plan from my GNS 480 on the map and HSI which comes over the ARINC connection. It would be nice to be able to export the flight plan to the USB I keep in the Dynon. My GNS 480 and most ARINC navigators today are capable of planning using airways to...

    Dynon/AFS Oshkosh 2015: SV-GPS-2020 and much more!

May be possible I have a certified WAAS navigator (GNS 480) in a Glasair. The antenna is mounted internally and the receiver maintains IFR tolerances. Since the GNS 480 is compliant for ADSB in several STC combinations in the certified world, I think it will pass muster. Won't know until I try...

    DYNON Pitot/AOA Plumbing hardware

No breaks For what it is worth in the two airplanes I did and several on which I assisted there is no break in the line. Reasoning is the bulkhead fitting is only valuable if the wing requires removal. Most wings never need removal once installed. My thought is that even if this were to occur...

Dynon Supplied Oil Presure sender D-180

Make sure you told the unit the correct sender part number. The original senders were completely different and use a different definition.

Electronic stability and protection for Skyview

Only if it can be an option. I fly high performance aerobatic aircraft and enjoy the large flight envelope they provide. I do not want the autopilot to be involved unless it is cruise flight and is selected to ON while operating in the modes I desire.

    How to

That is correct. My Glasair has the HSI indicate the Skyview active waypoint, one pointer shows the external GPS waypoint and the other points to a VOR.

Nav Course line defaulting to 430W

Think of it as two items. One is choosing the map source and second is choosing the autopilot source. Go to the flight plan. At the bottom it will allow you to choose which source is displayed on the map. You will still see tabs for both the 430 and the Skyview (could be completely different...

    Map-Info not accessing entire database

Thanks for the explanation. It is possible the last thing I had selected was airspace and so the missing info. Easy enough now.

    Map-Info not accessing entire database

Aviation and obstacle databases are kept current. This has happened with previous versions of those so I do not think it is new. My software version is the one just prior to 12.2 as I do not have the transponder.

    Map-Info not accessing entire database

For what it is worth, I have seen the same thing in my system. The workaround I have been using is to display the flight plan, highlight the destination and then press INFO. The normal box comes up with all the correct tabs. Mine is a single system, current databases, all data on the map...

    Annunciation - BATTERY VOLTS LOW

Jake is right as usual. The backup battery will only charge when the Skyview is on and above battery voltage. The other simple solution is to go fly. Don't know about you, but for me any excuse to fly is a good one!

    VSR index

I would very much like to have the VSR (Vertical Speed Required) index function be active when Skyview is using a flight plan from an IFR navigator over the ARINC bus. I can have the Skyview use the flight plan from my GNS 480 by selecting it as the map source. When the HSI source is set to the...

Flight plan import from external source

The flight plan from my GNS 480 (like any certified GPS navigator) can be displayed on the Skyview map having come over the ARINC lines. It would be nice to be able to import the points into the Dynon. This would allow me to save it (flight plan export) on the USB flash drive kept in the Dynon...

    Leaving flight directors on

When the autopilot is engaged the flight directors automatically display. I really like this feature. Unfortunately, when I disengage the autopilot, the flight directors are removed. This happens even if the flight director was selected on prior to autopilot engagement. I would like the flight...
