VMS fuel probe compatible with Skyview?

I can give you the numbers for the converter if you need them but the guy at Princeton is very good and knows your VM probe. You will have to calibrate the probe to the converter prior to calibrating the Dynon. PM me if you need more info. Happy to help. With some luck (and a lot of diligent...

VMS fuel probe compatible with Skyview?

Rick, I have the same probe in the Glasair 2 RG I am building. You will need a converter from Princeton. This converts the capacitance output of the probe to the 0-5v that Dynon needs. Princeton is easy to work with.

Making your own EMS sensor definitons

Since you have the voltage numbers and a linear function, you should have all the information you need. I think they just recommend you put the information into a spreadsheet to determine the values you need to input. It looks like the example they give may cover your circumstance as long as you...

    SkyView Network?

Rudy, the Skyview components can be installed in any order. The only real restrictions are that the EMS module must be on the cold side of the firewall and the ADAHRS modules must be installed within a certain envelope depicted in the install manual and in a magnetically inert area. The envelope...

    OAT Discrepancy

The good news is your responses tell me to put the probe out in the wing. The bad news is trying to figure out how to run the additional wires!

    OAT Discrepancy

As a follow on, I have a problem with the OAT in a D10A in the aircraft I currently fly. It reads accurately on the ground but is far too warm at altitude. This throws the True Airspeed calculations off. Since I am building two more aircraft (with Skyviews) I need to know if sensor placement is...

    Missing text in Pilot's Guide

I think the Garmin 480 outputs the standby VHF and VOR as well. Will have to look it up to verify.

    New view

Thanks for the info on the modification available. This (old YABB 2.1) format is much better.

    New view

I like the new web software since it has the navigation features at the bottom of every page as well using the Back feature. The problem cam this morning with a shift to gray instead of the normal blue. The blue used (even with the new bulletin board software) was much easier to read. The text...

    Tach Erratic

Do you have the recommended resistors in the RPM sense leads? If you do not have any resistors, you should refer to the install manual to find the value recommended. If you have them installed you may need to increase the value of the resistance.

    SKYVIEW & Trutrac VS autopilot

The Skyview contains an integral autopilot computer but it will only drive it's own Dynon servos connected via the Skyview network. While the servos look very similar externally, the Dynon servos also contain other items internally which measure force, slipping etc. You could probably sell the...

Can Dynon display information from a King KLN 89B?

Will the Skyview or legacy products (specifically D10A) display the output from a King KLN 89B? Is any other equipment required? Is ARINC 429 required to display glideslope from a GNS 430/530 or 480? How about the VNAV output from a Garmin X96? Is this compatibility information listed where I...

    what's next

I want the advanced flight planning to have the ability to load routes pulled from the database to include Victor airways, T routes, Q routes, or Jet airways (for those that need them). More importantly, it needs to receive and display the flight plan from an IFR GPS Such as the GNS 480...

    Dual Lightspeeds

How old are the Lightspeeds David? The original ones output a much lower signal voltage which Dynon might have trouble reading. Claus will update them to the new configuration for free. I think the new ones put out a higher pulse voltage which the Skyview reads just fine.

    Altitude adjustment on D-10A

I will try that today. I did adjust this setting thinking it was a bias to get the first on setting correct. I will run this against a certified altimeter to insure it is correct and not expect it to come up exactly correct. I do not think factory calibration will be necessary but will follow up...

    Trim Calibration Question for Neutral

Jae, I see where you are trying to go with this. Actually, if you install the position sensors and calibrate the full up and down positions, the Skyview will know the entire range. Once this is done you could simply put the trim tabs to the faired position you seek and note the position on the...

    Altitude adjustment on D-10A

It is selected on in the menu. Mind you, the D10A is a stand alone in this aircraft. There are no other Dynon products. The only interaction is the Garmin 396 serial input and the output to a Tru Trac autopilot. How might I change the altitude calibration of the EFIS?

    Trim Calibration Question for Neutral

Bearing in mind that elevator trim actually trims the aircraft to an angle of attack, the "neutral" position will vary depending based on that factor. It would only be in the exact same position when the aircraft weight, indicated speed and G loading are identical to the time the original...

    Altitude adjustment on D-10A

I thought the Dynon EFIS units took the barometric elevation at shutdown into memory so that when the unit is powered back up it adjusts the Kolsman value so the baro would match what it was. My D-10A is always about 100' high on startup. Is there a way to adjust it so it will do this correctly...
