    GPS 2020 mounting location

My RV4 has the Skyview GPS 250 mounted on the top of the engine side of the firewall under the cowl. GPS performance has always been excellent and the heat does not appear to be an issue.

    GPS 2020 mounting location

I have a Glasair (all fiberglass) with antennas of the same type you are using. All antennas are internal and work well. Three GPS receivers do not seem to care about the foil.

    AOA malfunction

Did you check for a line (pitot or AOA) disconnected, cracked or broken? Are all fittings still tight? You would need to verify the integrity from the probe all the way to the EMS module.

Fuel Pressure with Engine/fuel Pump Off

Do you have the legacy fuel pressure sender? I had this issue. The solution was to change to the new style (Kavlico) sender. Now all is well. Just had to lead the 5V power out to it from the EMS since the new senders have three wires instead of two. The ground and sense wires remain the same...

    Dedicated engine monitor screen?

I fly with the 40/20/40 display all the time. Dynon built in a feature to set your mind at ease. Since you can program alarm values for virtually anything monitored by the EMS and get a flashing Warning/Caution light (many with Aural warning as well) you will get notice of an anomaly. This will...

    Charging power for iPad

Which ones did you end up with Murray? Both Stratux power supplies have had RF interference for me.

    uAvionix ADSB Solution

I would consider the Dynon ADSB solution if the Mode S transponder could be eliminated. uAvionics (and formerly Navworx) will give me the ability to be anonymous while squawking 1200 VFR while simultaneously providing all the ADSB data the FAA needs for traffic separation. Simply not willing to...

    Short period in.m

Download and follow the Autopilot Tuning Guide on the Support page as a start. It sounds as if the one of the settings is too high.

    Signposts

I looked at this and it is not under PFD but is under Screen. I'm not near my plane but can give you the actual steps at the end of the week if you still need them. The Signpost toggle is on the same screen as the HITS. I did verify that.

    Signposts

With the latest software release the Signposts can be turned off. I believe it is under the PFD menu where you can also turn off HITS.

Changing Trim Indicator Takeoff Setting Line

It is set during the calibration. You can repeat the calibration for the trim and set it.

    CRS mode with GNS480

The way that is normally done in the the 480 is that once you are on the course to the point, you build the hold there. Hit Direct then Hold and build it. The plane will enter and track the hold. arriving at the hold point the first time is when the HSI course will snap to the expected hold course.

Backup battery won't hold any voltage..

David, The backup battery must be charged in the aircraft by the Skyview itself. As such, did you charge the backup battery by installing it in the aircraft and then leaving the aircraft on a charger with the Master switch and Skyview on and showing a voltage on Skyview above 12.25 volts...

    500 ft Warning

I saw this on Foreflight the other day while acting as a safety pilot shooting approaches. A flag pops up top center of the screen. Probably audio as well but my iPad not connected in that plane. I think it is a new Foreflight feature. My Dynons do not do this (Skyview ver 14).

Skyview touch reboot inflight - help

I had that issue with one of my displays. Send the diagnostic files to Dynon. There is an upload site to do this. Support will get back with you. In my case they issued an RMA and had me return the display. Dynon Support is the best in the industry.

    Go around dedicated button

Dynon Support will be along shortly to correct me if I am wrong but I think I can help. You can get the flight director to show the go around without the autopilot engaged. The catch here is that the F/D must already be on. In order to get the NOSE UP button on the Skyview display to change to...

    SV-ARINC-429 Help

Alex, You are correct. Aviation is just a format for the RS232 output. What Support is saying is that if you need Aviation format for one device and any other format (NMEA for example) for another device you could have each be an output of a different RS232 channel of the 430. If you have 2...

    Saving Lives

A spin is only possible with BOTH a stalled angle of attack and yaw. The AOA warning (properly calibrated per the manual) absolutely does prevent a spin if heeded.

Export flight plans received over ARINC

Any progress on this Dynon? Flight plans now flow to the Skyview from my GNS480 over ARINC, from Foreflight over the Skyview WIFI dongle and from a GRT Mini over serial. I would really like the ability to Export these to the USB stick I keep in the Skyview for flight plans. All the data is in...
